1. Qué es ambroxol cinfa y para qué se utiliza

Ambroxol, principio activo de este medicamento, pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos denominados mucolíticos, que actúan disminuyendo la viscosidad del moco, fluidificándolo y facilitando su eliminación.

Este medicamento está indicado para facilitar la eliminación del exceso de mocos y flemas, en catarros y gripes, para niños de 2 a 12 años.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar ambroxol cinfa

El principio activo de este medicamento, ambroxol, puede pasar a la leche materna y aunque no son de esperar efectos nocivos en el lactante, se debe evitar su uso durante la lactancia.

Los estudios realizados en animales no indican efectos nocivos directos o indirectos sobre la fertilidad.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Este medicamento contiene 450,1 mg de sorbitol en cada ml.

ambroxol cinfa contiene ácido benzoico (E-210).

Este medicamento contiene 2 mg de ácido benzoico en cada ml.

El ácido benzoico puede aumentar el riesgo de ictericia (coloración amarillenta de la piel y los ojos) en los recién nacidos (hasta de 4 semanas de edad).

ambroxol cinfa contiene propilenglicol (E-1520).

Este medicamento contiene 30,030 mg de propilenglicol en cada ml.

Si el bebé tiene menos de 4 semanas de edad, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico, en particular si al bebé se le han administrado otros medicamentos que contengan propilenglicol o alcohol.

3. Cómo tomar ambroxol cinfa

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Uso en niños

Niños de 6 a 12 años: 1 medida de 5 ml, 2-3 veces al día, (cada 8-12 horas, según necesidad), lo que significa un máximo diario de 45 mg de ambroxol hidrocloruro. Después de 2-3 días, una vez que el paciente mejore, se puede reducir la pauta posológica a 2 veces al día cada 12 horas.

Niños de 2 a 5 años: 1 medida de 2,5 ml, 3 veces al día (cada 8 horas), lo que significa un máximo diario de 22,5 mg de ambroxol hidrocloruro. Después de 2-3 días, una vez que el paciente mejore, se puede reducir la pauta posológica a 2 veces al día cada 12 horas. En esta población se debe consultar al médico.

Niños menores de 2 años: Este medicamento está contraindicado en niños menores de 2 años.

Cómo tomar:

Este medicamento se toma por vía oral. Medir la cantidad de medicamento a tomar con el dispositivo de medida que se incluye en la caja. Se recomienda beber un vaso de agua después de cada dosis y abundante líquido durante el día.

Si toma más ambroxol cinfa del que debe

Si ha tomado más ambroxol de lo que debe, podría notar náuseas, alteración del sentido del gusto, sensación de adormecimiento de la faringe, sensación de adormecimiento de la boca o cualquier otro efecto adverso descrito en la sección 4 Posibles efectos adversos.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

En caso de administración masiva accidental se recomienda tratamiento sintomático.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

5. Conservación de ambroxol cinfa

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30 ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto Sigre de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de ambroxol cinfa

  • El principio activo es ambroxol hidrocloruro. Cada ml de jarabe contiene 3 mg de ambroxol hidrocloruro.
  • Los demás componentes son: aroma de frambuesa (contiene jarabe de glucosa, propilenglicol (E-1520) y alcohol bencílico (E-1519)), ácido cítrico monohidrato, glicerol (E-422), hidroxietilcelulosa, ácido benzoico (E-210), propilenglicol (E-1520), sorbitol líquido no cristalizable (E-420), sacarina sódica y agua purificada.

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

ambroxol cinfa es un jarabe que se presenta como una solución transparente incolora o ligeramente amarillenta.

El medicamento se presenta en:

  • Frasco de vidrio topacio tipo III provisto de una cápsula cilíndrica de aluminio para el cierre.
