1. Qué es Albunorm 5% y para qué se utiliza

Albunorm 5% pertenece al grupo farmacoterapéutico: sustitutos de la sangre y fracciones proteicas del plasma.

Tenga especial cuidado con Albunorm 5%

  • Si tiene un riesgo especial a causa de un aumento del volumen de la sangre, por ejemplo, en caso de enfermedades graves del corazón, hipertensión arterial, venas dilatadas en el esófago, líquido en los pulmones, trastornos de la coagulación, grave disminución de los glóbulos rojos de la sangre o ausencia de orina.
  • Cuando hay signos de aumento del volumen de sangre (dolor de cabeza, trastorno de la respiración, congestión de las venas yugulares) o aumento de la presión arterial. La perfusión deberá detenerse inmediatamente.

Seguridad contra los virus

Cuando se administran medicamentos derivados de sangre o plasma humanos, no se puede excluir totalmente la aparición de enfermedades debidas a la transmisión de agentes infecciosos. Esto también se refiere a la posible transmisión de patógenos de naturaleza desconocida. Sin embargo, el riesgo de transmisión de agentes infecciosos se reduce por:

  • La selección de los donantes mediante un reconocimiento médico.
  • En las donaciones individuales y en las mezclas de plasma se descarta la presencia de marcadores de los virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), de la hepatitis C (VHC) y de la hepatitis B (VHB).

Albunorm 5% contiene albúmina fabricada según las especificaciones y procesos establecidos en la Farmacopea Europea y por tanto se considera un producto seguro respecto a transmisión de virus.

Se recomienda encarecidamente que, cada vez que usted reciba una dosis de Albunorm 5%, se tome nota del nombre y del número de lote del producto, a fin de mantener un registro de los lotes usados.

Uso de Albunorm 5% con otros medicamentos

Hasta la fecha no se conocen interacciones de la albúmina humana con otros productos. Sin embargo, Albunorm 5% en solución no debe mezclarse en la misma perfusión con otros medicamentos, sangre entera o concentrado de hematíes. Comunique a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Embarazo y lactancia

La albúmina humana es un constituyente normal de la sangre humana. No se conocen efectos perjudiciales cuando este producto se emplea en el embarazo o la lactancia. Debe prestarse especial atención para ajustar el volumen de sangre en las mujeres embarazadas.

Albunorm 5% contiene sodio

Este medicamento contiene 331 - 368 mg de sodio (componente principal de la sal de mesa/para cocinar) en cada 100 ml. Esto equivale al 18,4 % de la ingesta diaria máxima de sodio recomendada para un adulto.

3. Cómo usar Albunorm 5%

Albunorm 5% está listo para usar en perfusión (“goteo”) en una vena. La dosificación y la velocidad de perfusión (rapidez en que se le administra la albúmina en una vena) dependerán de su estado en particular. Su médico decidirá cuál es el mejor tratamiento para usted.

Instrucciones

  • El producto debe llevarse a temperatura ambiente o corporal antes de su uso.
  • La solución debe ser cristalina y no debe tener depósitos.
  • Cualquier solución sin usar deberá eliminarse.
  • Si tiene cualquier otra duda sobre el uso de este producto, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si usa más Albunorm 5% del que debiera

Si la dosificación y la velocidad de perfusión son demasiado altas, usted puede presentar dolor de cabeza, aumento de la presión arterial y molestias para respirar. La perfusión debe interrumpirse inmediatamente y su médico decidirá si es necesario cualquier otro tratamiento.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Los efectos adversos después de la perfusión de albúmina humana son poco frecuentes y normalmente desaparecen cuando la velocidad de perfusión se disminuye o se detiene.

Raros (afectan entre 1 y 10 pacientes de cada 10.000):

Rubor, urticaria, fiebre y nauseas.

Muy raros (afectan a menos de un paciente de cada 10.000):

Shock debido a reaccion de hipersensibilidad.

5. Conservación de Albunorm 5%

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamentodespués de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta y la caja. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Conservar por debajo de +25 °C. Conservar en el envase original para protegerlo de la luz. No congelar.

Una vez que el recipiente de la perfusión se haya abierto, el contenido deberá utilizarse inmediatamente.

La solución deberá ser cristalina o ligeramente opalescente. No deben utilizarse soluciones que estén turbias o que tengan depósitos.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
