El medicamento es un disolvente para uso parenteral utilizado como vehículo para la administración de medicamentos, que está indicado como:

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Agua para preparaciones inyectables Grifols

Se deben considerar las contraindicaciones relacionadas con los medicamentos añadidos.

Asimismo, se recomienda controlar el correcto funcionamiento del riñón mediante pruebas de laboratorio.

Cuando se administren grandes volúmenes de este medicamento se deberá controlar con frecuencia el equilibrio iónico.

Si tiene una edad avanzada, si el corazón, el hígado y/o los riñones no le funcionan correctamente o si se usa en niños, las complicaciones relacionadas con un uso incorrecto o no controlado del agua para preparaciones inyectables pueden ser más graves.

Si se administran grandes volúmenes de solución hipotónica cuando se utiliza el agua para preparaciones inyectables como diluyente, puede producirse hemólisis.

Los signos y síntomas de una sobredosis pueden estar también relacionados con el medicamento que se adiciona.

En caso de sobredosis se deberá interrumpir la administración y recurrir al tratamiento sintomático.

Si se sospecha de una reacción hemolítica durante la administración de una solución preparada con agua para preparaciones inyectables, se suspenderá la misma y se administrará un concentrado de eritrocitos (glóbulos rojos), se inducirá la diuresis con diuréticos y líquidos intravenosos, y se controlará la función renal y el estado de la coagulación.
