1. Qué es Agua oxigenada CUVE y para qué se utiliza

El peróxido de hidrógeno es un antiséptico. Está indicado en :

  • Heridas superficiales de la piel en adultos, adolescentes y niños de 2 años de edad y mayores.
  • Enjuagues bucales tras extracciones dentales, en adultos y adolescentes (de 12 a menos de 18 años de edad).

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o no mejora después de 5 días.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Agua oxigenada CUVE

No use Agua oxigenada CUVE

  • Si es alérgico al peróxido de hidrogeno o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • En cavidades del cuerpo cerradas o heridas quirúrgicas profundas.

Advertencias y precauciones

-Sólo para uso externo. No ingerir.

-Evitar el contacto con los ojos. Si accidentalmente se produjese contacto con los ojos, lavar abundantemente con agua y consultar a un oftalmólogo si fuese necesario.

  • En algunos casos, sobre todo con el uso repetido, en enjuagues orales puede producir irritación de la mucosa bucal (lengua "vellosa"), ver sección 4.

Niños y adolescentes

No administre este medicamento como desinfectante de heridas superficiales de la piel en niños menores de 2 años de edad.

No administre este medicamento como enjuague bucal en niños menores de 12 años de edad.

En niños de 12 años de edad y mayores Agua oxigenada CUVE como enjuague bucal debe ser utilizada bajo la supervisión de un adulto debido al riesgo de ingestión accidental.

3. Cómo usar Agua oxigenada CUVE

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Este medicamento se administra por vía cutánea en el caso de heridas superficiales de la piel y por vía bucal en el caso de enjuagues tras extracciones dentales.

Posología

Adultos,adolescentes y niños de 2 años edad y mayores

-En heridas superficiales de la piel, aplicar sobre la herida directamente o mediante un algodón o gasa.

Adultos y adolescentes

-En los enjuagues bucales tras extracciones dentales, en adultos y adolecentes diluir con la misma cantidad de agua.

Enjuague la boca durante 1 minuto. Se puede repetir hasta un máximo de 4 veces al día. No se debe utilizar en el caso de heridas gingivales (ver sección 2).

Se debe de emplear durante un máximo de 5 días

En adolescentes se debe utilizar bajo la supervisión de un adulto debido al riesgo de ingestión accidental.

Si usa más Agua oxigenada CUVE de la que debe

La ingesta accidental puede causar dolor de garganta, trastornos gástricos y vómitos. El avance progresivo de oxígeno por el organismo puede causar lesiones por distensión aguda del estómago y hemorragia interna.

La ingestión de grandes volúmenes puede provocar una embolia gaseosa.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, acuda a un centro médico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica. Teléfono: (91) 562 04 20 indicando el producto y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Se han notificado casos de embolia gaseosa, a veces causante de un paro cardíaco, cuando el peróxido de hidrógeno se ha aplicado cerca de cavidades corporales cerradas o en heridas quirúrgicas profundas.

El peróxido de hidrógeno en soluciones concentradas produce quemaduras irritantes en la piel y en las mucosas produciendo una escara (costra) blanca. El dolor desaparece al cabo de 1 hora aproximadamente.

El uso continuado como enjuague bucal puede causar una hipertrofia (inflamación) reversible de las papilas de la lengua.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación

No utilice Agua oxigenada CUVE después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase, después de CAD.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Agua oxigenada CUVE 30 mg/ml

  • El principio activo es peróxido de hidrógeno. Cada 100 ml de solución contienen 3 g de peróxido de hidrógeno.
  • Los demas componentes son: ácido fosfórico concentrado, fenacetina, alcohol etílico 96º (c.s.p. solubilizar la fenacetina), sequión (sal sódica de DTPMP) y agua purificada.

Solución transparente e incolora.

Se presenta en un frasco de polietileno se presenta en frascos de polietileno y tapón con obturador que contiene 250 ml, 500 ml o 1000 ml de solución.
