1. Qué es Afluón y para qué se utiliza

Afluón contiene el principio activo, azelastina hidrocloruro, que pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos que reciben el nombre de antialérgicos (antihistamínicos).

Los antihistamínicos previenen los efectos de sustancias como la histamina que el cuerpo produce como parte de una reacción alérgica. Azelastina ha demostrado reducir la inflamación ocular.

Afluón se utiliza para el tratamiento y prevención de los trastornos oculares causados por la fiebre del heno (conjuntivitis alérgica estacional) en adultos y niños a partir de 4 años.

Afluón también se utiliza para el tratamiento de los trastornos oculares causados por la alergia a sustancias como ácaros del polvo de casa o pelo de animales (conjuntivitis alérgica perenne) en adultos y niños a partir de 12 años.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Afluón

No use Afluón:

  • Sies alérgico a azelastina hidrocloruro o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precaucionesConsulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Afluón

  • Si no está seguro de que sus síntomas oculares estén causados por una alergia. En particular, si sólo afectan a un ojo; si su visión ha empeorado; o si tiene dolor ocular y no tiene síntomas nasales, posiblemente se trate de una infección en lugar de una alergia.

Niños y adolescentes

Embarazo y lactancia

Conducción y uso de máquinas:

Después de utilizar Afluón su visión puede quedarse borrosa durante un corto periodo de tiempo. Si esto sucede, espere a que se recupere su visión antes de conducir o usar máquinas.

Afluón contiene cloruro de benzalconio:

Este medicamento contiene 0,00375 mg de cloruro de benzalconio en cada gota, equivalente a 0,00375 mg / 0,03 ml.

El cloruro de benzalconio se puede absorber por las lentes de contacto blandas alterando su color. Retirar las lentes de contacto antes de usar este medicamento y esperar 15 minutos antes de volver a colocarlas.

El cloruro de benzalconio puede causar irritación ocular, especialmente si padece de ojo seco u otras enfermedades de la córnea (capa transparente de la zona frontal del ojo). Consulte a su médico si siente una sensación extraña, escozor o dolor en el ojo después de usar este medicamento.

3. Cómo usar Afluón

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Recuerde:

Afluón sólo se debe aplicar en los ojos.

La dosis recomendada es:

Trastornos oculares causados por la fiebre del heno (conjuntivitis alérgica estacional)

  • Uso en adultos y niños a partir de los 4 años de edad.
  • La dosis normal es de una gota en cada ojo, por la mañana y por la noche.

Si prevé una exposición al polen, antes de salir al exterior puede administrarse la dosis normal de Afluón como medida preventiva.

Trastornos oculares causados por una alergia (conjuntivitis alérgica (perenne) no estacional)

  • Uso en adultos y niños a partir de 12 años.
  • La dosis normal es de una gota en cada ojo, por la mañana y por la noche.

Si sus síntomas son graves, su médico puede aumentar la dosis a una gota en cada ojo hasta cuatro veces al día.

El alivio de los síntomas de la conjuntivitis alérgica se debe observar a los 15-30 minutos.

Instrucciones para el uso adecuado de Afluón

Para facilitar la aplicación del colirio, las primeras veces puede ser útil sentarse delante de un espejo, de forma que pueda ver lo que está haciendo.

  1. Lávese las manos.
  2. Limpie suavemente el contorno de sus ojos para eliminar cualquier resto de humedad (Esquema 1)
  3. Desenrosque el tapón del frasco y compruebe que el cuentagotas está limpio.
  4. Tire suavemente de su párpado inferior hacia abajo (Esquema 2).
  5. Coloque cuidadosamente una gota dentro de la zona media del párpado inferior (Esquema 3). Procure que el cuentagotas no toque el ojo.

Duración del tratamiento

Si es posible, debe utilizar Afluón regularmente hasta que sus síntomas hayan desaparecido.

No utilice Afluón durante más de 6 semanas.

Si usa más Afluón del que debiera

Si usted se ha administrado demasiado Afluón en sus ojos, es probable que no tenga problemas. Pero si está preocupado, consulte a su médico. Si olvidó usar Afluón

Use su colirio tan pronto como lo recuerde y adminístrese la siguiente dosis en su horario habitual.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Estos efectos incluyen:

  • Frecuentes (pueden afectar a 1 de cada 10 paciente): Irritación leve (escozor, picor, lagrimeo) en los ojos después del uso de Afluón. Estos efectos no deberían durar mucho tiempo.

5. Conservación de Afluón

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta del frasco y en el estuche. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Una vez abierto:No utilice este medicamento cuando el frasco haya sido abierto tras un período superior a 4 semanas. Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Afluón

El principio activo es azelastina hidrocloruro 0.05 % (0.5 mg / ml). Cada gota contiene 0,015 mg de azelastina hidrocloruro.

Los demás componentes son cloruro de benzalconio, edetato de disodio, hipromelosa, sorbitol líquido (cristalizable) (E420i), hidróxido de sodio (E524) y agua para inyección.

Afluón es una solución incolora y transparente.
