1. Qué es Acolora y para qué se utiliza

Acolora polvo para solución oral en sobre es un laxante para el tratamiento del estreñimiento en adultos, adolescentes y personas de edad avanzada. No está recomendado para niños menores de 12 años.

Acolora le ayuda a tener un fácil tránsito intestinal incluso cuando lleve estreñido mucho tiempo. Acolora también es efectivo en la resolución de la impactación fecal, complicación del estreñimiento severo.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Acolora

No tome Acolora:

  • Si es alérgico a los principios activos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si su médico le ha dicho que tiene:
  • obstrucción intestinal
  • perforación intestinal
  • enfermedad inflamatoria severa del intestino como enfermedad de Crohn, colitis ulcerosa o megacolon tóxico.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Acolora:

  • Si tiene epilepsia o antecedentes de convulsiones.

Acolora contiene sodio, potasio y sacarosa

  • Consulte con su médico o farmacéutico si usted necesita 3 o más sobres diarios por un periodo prolongado o especialmente si le han recomendado una dieta baja en sal (sodio).

Acolora contiene 187,92 mg de sodio (componente principal de la sal de mesa/para cocinar) por sobre. Esto equivale a 9,4% de la ingesta diaria máxima de sodio recomendada para un adulto.

  • Este medicamento contiene 24,4 mg de potasio por sobre, lo que debe tenerse en cuenta en pacientes con insuficiencia renal o en pacientes con dietas pobres en potasio.
  • Este medicamento contiene sacarosa (4,6 mg de sacarosa por sobre). Si su médico le ha indicado que padece una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, consulte con él antes de tornar este medicamento.

3. Cómo tomar Acolora

Este medicamento puede tomarse a cualquier hora sin necesidad de acompañarlo de comida.

Disolver el contenido de cada sobre en 125 ml (1/2 vaso) de agua y tomarlo.

Adultos, adolescentes y personas de edad avanzada

  • Estreñimiento:

Una dosis de Acolora se corresponde con 1 sobre disuelto en 125 ml (1/2 vaso) de agua.

Tome esta cantidad de 1 a 3 veces al día en función del grado de estreñimiento que tenga.

  • Impactación fecal:

Antes de tomar Acolora para impactación fecal, se debe confirmar por el médico que se encuentre en esta condición.

Es necesaria una dosis de 8 sobres al día para el tratamiento de la impactación fecal. Cada sobre deberá disolverse en 125 ml (1/2 vaso) de agua. Los 8 sobres deberán tomarse en un espacio de 6 horas y durante 3 días si es necesario. Si sufre de corazón no tome más de 2 sobres en 1 hora.

Cómo preparar:

Abra el sobre y vierta el contenido en un vaso. Añada unos 125 ml (1/2 vaso) de agua y remueva bien hasta que el polvo se haya disuelto completamente quedando una solución turbia y a continuación bébalo. Si está tomando Acolora para impactación fecal le resultará más sencillo disolver los 8 sobres en 1 litro de agua.

Duración del tratamiento:

  • Estreñimiento:

El tratamiento dura normalmente unas 2 semanas. Si necesita tomar Acolora por más tiempo, consulte a su médico. Si su estreñimiento está causado por una enfermedad como Parkinson o esclerosis múltiple, o si está tomando medicinas que puedan causar estreñimiento, su médico podrá recomendarle que tome Acolora durante más de 2 semanas. Si necesita tomar Acolora durante más tiempo, consulte a su médico.

Para tratamientos de larga duración, normalmente la dosis puede reducirse a 1 o 2 sobres al día.

  • Impactación fecal:

El tratamiento puede durar hasta 3 días.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

5. Conservación de Acolora

Sobre: No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Solución reconstituida: Puede almacenarse en nevera (entre 2ºC y 8ºC) hasta 6 horas. Deseche cualquier solución que no se haya utilizado en 6 horas.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el sobre y el estuche después de CAD.La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
