1. Qué es Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos y para qué se utiliza

Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos pertenece a un grupo de medicamentos denominados preparados antianémicos y esta indicado en:

  • Prevención y tratamiento de la deficiencia de ácido fólico en mujeres embarazadas como prevención de defectos en el tubo neural (espina bífida, anencefalia, encefalocele) y otros defectos congénitos, especialmente en mujeres con antecedentes de hijo ó feto con estas deficiencias en el tubo neural, durante cuatro semanas antes de la concepción y los tres primeros meses de gestación.
  • Tratamiento del déficit de ácido fólico que cursa en procesos como anemias megaloblásticas, alcoholismo, síndromes de malabsorción.

No tome Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

  • si es alérgico al principio activo o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • en dosis elevadas si padece anemia megaloblástica (trastorno que se origina por la carencia de vitamina B12).

Otros medicamentos y Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos puede interaccionar con antagonistas del ácido fólico (metotrexato, sulfonamidas, trimetoprim, pirimetamina, aminopterina), antiepilépticos, suplementos de cinc, antiácidos, colestiramina, colestipol, triamtereno, antimaláricos, anticonceptivos orales, sulfasalacina, antituberculosos, corticosteroides (uso prolongado) y alcohol.

La administración simultánea del ácido fólico o cloranfenicol en pacientes con carencia de folatos, puede disminuir la respuesta al tratamiento con ácido fólico.

Las necesidades de ácido fólico pueden aumentar si usted está tomando alguno de esos medicamentos.

Interferencias con pruebas diagnósticas:

La administración de dosis grandes y continuas de ácido fólico pueden reducir la concentración de vitamina B12 en sangre.

Embarazo ylactancia

El ácido fólico puede utilizarse con seguridad durante el embarazo y la lactancia.

Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos contiene sodio

Este medicamento contiene menos de 23 mg de sodio (1 mmol) por comprimido; esto es, esencialmente “exento de sodio”.

3. Cómo tomar Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos se administra por vía oral, preferentemente antes de las comidas.

La dosis recomendada es:

  • Tratamientos de estados carenciales: 1 a 3 comprimidos diarios (5-15 mg de ácido fólico) en 1-2 tomas al día.
  • Para el tratamiento de la anemia megaloblástica (deficiencia en folatos) se recomienda una dosis de 5mg/día durante 4 meses; puede ser necesario hasta 15 mg en casos de absorción deficiente.
  • Prevención de defectos en el tubo neural: 1 comprimido al día durante cuatro semanas antes de la concepción y los tres primeros meses de gestación.

Si toma más Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica. Tel.: 91.562.04.20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

No obstante, Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos, a dosis usuales, es bien tolerado por el organismo, no existiendo la posibilidad de intoxicación aguda, crónica ó accidental.

Si olvidó tomar Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

Su médico le indicará la duración del tratamiento.

No suspenda su tratamiento antes, ya que no tendrá la eficacia esperada.

5. Conservación de Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Conservar en el embalaje exterior para protegerlo de la luz.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos:

  • El principio activo es ácido fólico. Cada comprimido contiene 5 mg de ácido fólico.
    • Los demás componentes son celulosa microcristalina, lactosa, ácido esteárico carboximetilalmidón sódico de tipo A.

Ácido Fólico Lorien 5 mg comprimidos se presenta en forma de comprimidos circulares, de color amarillo con manchas con ranura en una cara para administración por vía oral en envases de 30 comprimidos. La ranura no debe utilizarse para fraccionar el comprimido.
