If any of these symptoms concern you, or if you experience any other symptoms such as headache, fatigue, nausea, or vomiting, contact your doctor immediately. Your doctor may consider adding steroid tablets to your regular treatment during periods of stress (for example, when you have a chest infection or before surgery).

Important information about asthma or COPD symptoms:

If while using Gibiter Easyhaler you experience difficulty breathing or emit "puffs" with breathing, you should continue using it and contact your doctor as soon as possible, as you may need additional treatment.

These signs may indicate that your disease is not adequately controlled, and you may need immediate different or additional treatment.

Adults (18 years and older)

How to use the Easyhaler inhaler

About your Easyhaler inhaler

Gibiter Easyhaler may be different from other inhalers you may have used in the past. Therefore, it is very important that you use it correctly, as incorrect use may result in you not receiving the right amount of medication. This could make you feel very unwell or that your asthma and COPD are not being treated properly.

Your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist will show you how to use your inhaler correctly. Make sure you understand how to use the inhaler correctly. If you are unsure, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. As with all inhalers, caregivers should ensure that children prescribed Gibiter Easyhaler perform the inhalation technique correctly, as described below. You can also view the instructional video at https://cima.aemps.es/info/78803.

When you first acquire your Easyhaler inhaler

The inhaler comes in an aluminum bag. Do not open the aluminum bag until you are ready to start using the medication, as this helps to keep the powder dry in the inhaler.

When you are ready to start treatment, open the bag and note the date, for example, in your calendar.

Use the inhaler within 4 months of removing it from the aluminum bag.

HOW TO USE IT CORRECTLY

Step 1: SHAKE

• Remove the powder cap

• Shake the inhaler3to5times while holding it inverticalposition

SHAKE x 3-5

Important points to remember

• It is essential to keep the inhaler in vertical position

• If you accidentally activate it while shaking, empty the powder from the mouthpiece as shown below

Step 2:ACTIVATE

• Continue holding the inhaler in vertical position with your index and middle fingers

• Press until you hear a "click," and then release until you hear another "click." This releases a dose

Activate only once

ACTIVATE x 1

Important points to remember

• Do not activate the inhaler if the cap is still on

• Activate only once

• If you accidentally activate it more than once, empty the powder from the mouthpiece, see below

• Activate to release the dose before inhaling, not at the same time

• Keep the inhaler inverticalposition while activating and while inhaling the dose. If you tilt it, the powder may fall before you can inhale it

Step 3:INHALE

• Continue holding the inhaler in vertical position

• Exhale normally

• Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, between your teeth, and close your lips firmly around the mouthpiece

• Breathe in deeply and energetically

• Remove the inhaler from your mouth and exhale normally

INHALE

Important points to remember

• Make sure the mouthpiece is completely placed inside your mouth, so that the medication can reach your lungs

• Make sure your lips are firmly closed around the mouthpiece

• Do not exhale into the inhaler. This is important: it may block the inhaler. If you exhale into the inhaler, empty the powder from the mouthpiece, see below

If you need to take another inhalation, repeat steps 1-3: Shake-Activate-Inhale.

After using the inhaler:

• Put the cap back on the mouthpiece. This will prevent the inhaler from accidentally activating.

• After taking the dose, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out.

How to empty the powder from the mouthpiece

If you accidentally activate the inhaler, or if you have activated it more than once, or if you have exhaled into the inhaler, empty the powder from the mouthpiece.

• Gently tap the mouthpiece on a surface or in the palm of your hand to empty the powder.

• Then, repeat the steps: Shake-Activate-Inhale.

Cleaning the inhaler

Keep your inhaler dry and clean. If necessary, you can clean the mouthpiece of the inhaler with a dry cloth. Do not use water: the powder inside the inhaler is sensitive to moisture.

Using the inhaler with a protective cover

You can use a protective cover with your inhaler. This helps to improve the durability of the product. The first time you insert the inhaler into the protective cover, make sure the inhaler has the cap on, as this prevents accidental activation. You can use the inhaler without removing it from the protective cover.

Follow the same instructions above,1. Shake – 2. Activate – 3. Inhale.

Remember:

• Keep the inhaler in vertical position while activating

• Put the cap back on after taking the dose, as this will prevent accidental activation.

When to start using a new inhaler

The dose counter shows the number of doses left. The counter moves every 5 applications. When the dose counter starts to turn red, there are 20 doses left.

If you still do not have a new Easyhaler inhaler, contact your doctor for a new prescription. When the counter reaches 0 (zero), you must replace the inhaler.

If you have a protective cover, you can save it and insert your new inhaler into it.

Remember

  • 1. Shake – 2. Activate – 3. Inhale.
  • Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after taking the dose.
  • Do not get your inhaler wet, protect it from moisture.

If you have any additional questions about using this product, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
