2. What you need to know before starting to take Dutasteride STADA
3. How to take Dutasteride STADA
4. Possible side effects
5. Storage of Dutasteride STADA
6. Contents of the pack and additional information
The active ingredient is dutasteride, which belongs to a group of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors.
Dutasterida STADA is used in men to treat an enlarged prostate(benign prostatic hyperplasia),a non-cancerous growth of the prostate caused by excessive production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone.
As the prostate grows in size, it may produce urinary problems such as difficulty in urinating and a need to urinate more frequently. It may also cause a smaller and weaker urine stream. If benign prostatic hyperplasia is not treated, there is a risk of complete blockage of the urine flow(acute urinary retention). This requires immediate medical treatment. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to reduce the size of the prostate or remove it. Dutasterida STADA reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone, which helps to reduce the size of the prostate and alleviate symptoms. This reduces the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for surgery.
Dutasterida STADA may also be used with another medication, tamsulosin (used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate).
Do not take Dutasterida STADA:
-if you are allergic to dutasteride, other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, soy, peanuts, or any of the other ingredients of this medication (listed in section 6)..
-if you have a severe liver disease..
-if you are a child or adolescent.
Inform your doctorif you think you are in any of these situations.
This medication is only for men. Do not take it women, children, or adolescents.
Warnings and precautions

Heart failure means that your heart is not pumping blood as it should.
-Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver problems.. You may need some additional checks during your treatment with Dutasterida STADA if you have any liver disease.

If you have a blood test for PSA, inform your doctor that you are taking Dutasterida STADA.Men taking Dutasterida STADA should have regular PSA checks. In a clinical study in men at increased risk of prostate cancer, men taking Dutasterida STADA had a higher frequency of a type of aggressive prostate cancer than those not taking Dutasterida STADA. The effect of Dutasterida STADA on these aggressive types of prostate cancer is not clear.
