3. How to use Budesonide Aldo-Union 100 micrograms

Remember to use your medicine.

Follow exactly the administration instructions of this medicine indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.

This medicine is administered by inhalation.

The dosage should be individualized.

Unless your doctor has given you different instructions, follow the following posology:

Use in adults

Adults:200-1600 micrograms daily, divided into 2-4 administrations

Use in children and adolescents

Children from 2-7 years:200-400 micrograms daily, divided into 2-4 administrations.

Children from 7 years:200-800 micrograms daily, divided into 2-4 administrations.

Once the desired clinical effects are achieved, your doctor may gradually reduce the dose to the minimum amount necessary to control the symptoms.

If you think the effect of this medicine is too strong or too weak, let your doctor know. Do not change your dose without talking to your doctor first.

Rinse your mouth with water after using the inhaler, do not swallow. This will make it less likely to produce side effects in the mouth or throat.

Instructions for correct administration of the preparation:

Before using the medicine, check the expiration date.

Sequence of four steps showing oral inhaler with correct technique and lip position

  1. Remove the cap (fig.1). If it is a new inhaler or has not been used for several days, shake the aerosol (fig. 2) and perform a puff to ensure the proper functioning of the inhaler. If the inhaler is used regularly, proceed to the next instructions:
  2. Shake the inhaler (fig. 2).
  3. Eliminate as much air as possible from your lungs.
  4. Attach the aerosol to your mouth according to the position indicated in the drawing (fig. 3).
  5. Make a deep inhalation.

You should press, according to the arrows in the drawing (fig. 4), the device while making this inhalation.

  1. Remove the aerosol from your mouth and try to hold the air in your lungs for a few seconds.
  2. You should periodically wash the oral adapter of the aerosol. To do this, remove the adapter from the aerosol and clean it with a cloth or paper towel.
  3. Store with the cap on and protect it from dust and dirt.

Your doctor should check that the patient knows how to use the inhaler and synchronizes inhalation with the puff. Optionally, inhalation chambers can be used to achieve better use of the dose and facilitate the arrival of the medicine to the lungs.

The inhaler has a dose indicator that can be seen through a small hole or window of the actuator and indicates how many applications are left. In this indicator of a new inhaler, you can read "200" through the window of the actuator. These numbers correspond to the doses left in the inhaler. As the inhaler is used, the dose indicator rotates in a decreasing manner every 5-7 puffs until it reaches 0.

When there are approximately 40 doses left, the indicator changes from green to red (see figure 5) to remind the patient to consult their doctor if they need to continue treatment or need a new prescription. Discard the inhaler once the indicator reaches "0".

(figure 5)

If you use moreBudesonide Aldo-Union 100 microgramsthan you should

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult the Toxicology Information Service. Phone 91 562 04 20.
