1. Qué es Calcial D y para qué se utiliza

Calcial D es un suplemento de calcio y vitamina D.

Calcial D está indicado para el tratamiento de estados carenciales de calcio y vitamina D. También puede utilizarse como suplemento en el tratamiento de la osteoporosis en pacientes con deficiencia de calcio y vitamina D manifiesta o con gran riesgo de que se produzca.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Calcial D

No tomeCalcial D:

  • Si es alérgico al calcio carbonato, a la vitamina D3 o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si tiene cálculos (piedras) en el riñón.
  • Si tiene insuficiencia renal grave.
  • Si tiene elevadas cantidades de calcio en la sangre o en la orina.

Advertencias y precauciones

Si usted sufre alguna de las siguientes enfermedades, recuerde comunicárselo siempre a su médico antes de tomar este medicamento:

  • Si usted está tomando otros productos que contengan vitamina D, debe comunicárselo a su médico ya que debe dejar de tomarlos.
  • Si usted padece sarcoidosis (enfermedad granulomatosa que afecta a diferentes órganos entre ellos la piel y que puede cursar con niveles de calcio elevados en sangre).
  • Si tiene insuficiencia renal o tendencia a la formación de cálculos (piedras) en el riñón.
  • Si tiene alguna enfermedad del corazón.

Si toma Calcial D comprimidos masticables conjuntamente con alimentos que contienen oxalatos (coles, espinacas, chocolate), fosfatos (carne roja) o ácido fítico (pan integral, cereales), pueden producirse interacciones, por lo que se aconseja no tomar Calcial D con las comidas.

Durante el tratamiento con Calcial D no debe tomar alimentos que puedan estar “reforzados” con vitamina D.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No se recomienda el uso de Calcial D durante el embarazo o la lactancia.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

No se han observado efectos sobre la capacidad para conducir y utilizar máquinas.

Calcial D contieneaspartamo. Este medicamento contiene 5 mg de aspartamo en cada unidad de dosis. El aspartamo contiene una fuente de fenilalanina que puede ser perjudicial en caso de padecer fenilcetonuria (FCN), una enfermedad genética rara en la que la fenilalanina se acumula debido a que el organismo no es capaz de eliminarla correctamente.

Calcial D contiene lactosa. Si su médico le ha indicado que padece una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, consulte con él antes de tomar este medicamento.

Calcial D contiene sorbitol. Este medicamento contiene 600 mg de sorbitol en cada unidad de dosis. El sorbitol es una fuente de fructosa. Si su médico le ha indicado que usted (o su hijo) padecen una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, o se les ha diagnosticado intolerancia hereditaria a la fructosa (IHF), una enfermedad genética rara, en la que el paciente no puede descomponer la fructosa, consulte usted (o su hijo) con su médico antes de tomar este medicamento.

3. Cómo tomar Calcial D

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Adultos y pacientes de edad avanzada

La dosis recomendada es de 1 a 2 comprimidos al día.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Calcial D. No suspenda el tratamiento antes; ya que no se obtendría el efecto deseado.

Forma de administración:

Los comprimidos masticables de Calcial D son para uso oral. Masticar los comprimidos de Calcial D, bebiendo, a continuación, si quiere un poco de agua.

También se pueden dispersar 1 ó 2 comprimidos en medio vaso de agua ingiriéndolo a continuación.

Si estima que la acción de Calcial D es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si ha tomado más Calcial D de lo que debe, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico.

En caso de sobredosis puede experimentar sensación de sed, náuseas, vómitos, deshidratación, aumento de la frecuencia de orinar y estreñimiento.

Si olvidó tomarCalcial D

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Si olvida tomar una dosis, tome la siguiente lo antes posible y continúe como hasta ese momento.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas lo sufran.

Se han observado los siguientes efectos adversos:

Raros (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 1.000 personas): estreñimiento, flatulencia, náuseas, dolor abdominal y diarrea.

En caso de administraciones prolongadas a altas dosis, pueden aparecer niveles de calcio elevados en sangre así como en orina, con síntomas como pérdida de apetito, vómitos, náuseas, dolor de cabeza, debilidad, apatía y somnolencia. Otros síntomas más graves son sed, deshidratación, aumento de la frecuencia de orinar, dolor abdominal y latido cardíaco irregular.

5. Conservación de Calcial D

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC. Conservar en el envase original.

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase, después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Calcial D

  • Los principios activos son calcio (carbonato) y colecalciferol (vitamina D3). Cada comprimido masticable contiene 600 mg de calcio y 400 UI de colecalciferol.
  • Los demás componentes son: Sacarina sódica, sorbitol (E-420), almidón de maíz pregelatinizado, estearato de magnesio (E-572), croscarmelosa de sodio, aspartamo (E-951), lactosa anhidra, aroma de anís, aroma de menta y aroma de leche.
