1. Qué es rupatadina cinfa y para qué se utiliza

rupatadina cinfa es un antihistamínico.

rupatadina cinfa está indicado para el alivio de los síntomas de la rinitis alérgica, tales como, estornudos, secreción nasal, picor de ojos y de nariz.

rupatadina cinfa está también indicado para el alivio de los síntomas asociados a la urticaria (erupción alérgica de la piel), como picor y las ronchas cutáneas (enrojecimiento e hinchazón de la piel localizados).

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar rupatadina cinfa

No tome rupatadina cinfa

  • si es alérgico a la rupatadina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar rupatadina cinfa.

Si padece insuficiencia renal o hepática, en tal caso consulte a su médico. El uso de rupatadina no está actualmente recomendado en pacientes con insuficiencia renal o hepática.

Si usted tiene los niveles de potasio en sangre bajos y/o si usted tiene un cierto patrón anormal de los latidos del corazón (prolongación conocida del intervalo QTc en el ECG), que puede ocurrir en determinadas enfermedades del corazón, consulte con su médico. Si es mayor de 65 años consulte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Niños

Este medicamento no debe utilizarse en niños menores de 12 años de edad.

Toma de rupatadina cinfa con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Cuando tome rupatadina no tome medicamentos que contengan ketoconazol o eritromicina.

Si está tomando medicamentos depresores del sistema nervioso central o medicamentos con estatinas, consulte con su médico antes de tomar rupatadina.

Toma de rupatadina cinfa con alimentos, bebidas y alcohol

No debe tomar rupatadina en combinación con zumo de pomelo, debido a que puede aumentar el nivel de rupatadina en su organismo.

Rupatadina, a la dosis recomendada de 10 mg, no incrementa la somnolencia producida por el alcohol.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte con su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No tome rupatadina durante el embarazo y la lactancia, a no ser que esté claramente indicado por su médico.

3. Cómo tomar rupatadina cinfa

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Rupatadina se administra en adolescentes (a partir de 12 años de edad) y adultos. La dosis recomendada es de un comprimido (10 mg de rupatadina) una vez al día, con o sin alimentos. Ingiera el comprimido con una cantidad suficiente de líquido (p. ej. un vaso de agua).

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con rupatadina.

Si toma más rupatadina cinfa del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar rupatadina cinfa

Tome su dosis lo antes posible y continúe con sus comprimidos en los tiempos habituales. No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Somnolencia, dolor de cabeza, vértigo, sequedad de boca, sensación de debilidad y fatiga.

Aumento del apetito, irritabilidad, dificultad en la concentración, hemorragia nasal, sequedad nasal, dolor de garganta, tos, sequedad de garganta, rinitis, náuseas, dolor abdominal, diarrea, indigestión, vómitos, estreñimiento, erupción, dolor de espalda, dolor de las articulaciones, dolor muscular, sed, malestar, fiebre, pruebas de la función hepática anormales y aumento de peso.

Efectos adversos raros(pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 1.000 pacientes):

Palpitaciones, aumento del ritmo cardiaco y reacciones alérgicas (picor, urticaria e hinchazón de la cara, labios, lengua o garganta).

5. Conservación de rupatadina cinfa

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase y blíster, después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda, pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de rupatadina cinfa

  • El principio activo es rupatadina. Cada comprimido contiene 10 mg de rupatadina (como fumarato).
  • Los demás componentes son lactosa monohidrato, celulosa microcristalina PH 102, almidón de maíz pregelatinizado, óxido de hierro rojo (E-172), óxido de hierro amarillo (E-172) y estearato de magnesio.
