1. Qué es Hirudoid y para qué se utiliza

Hirudoid es un medicamento que contiene condroitina sulfato de sodio como principio activo, y posee propiedades que favorecen el flujo sanguíneo.

Este medicamento está indicado para:

el alivio local sintomático de los trastornos venosos superficiales como pesadez y tirantez en piernas con varices en adultos

el alivio local sintomático de hematomas superficiales producidos por golpes en adultos y niños mayores de 1 año.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 5 días.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Hirudoid

No use Hirudoid

  • Si es alérgico a la condroitina sulfato de sodio o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
  • Si padece alteraciones importantes de la coagulación.
  • Sobre mucosas, úlceras y heridas abiertas o infectadas.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Hirudoid.

  • Debe utilizarse sólo en piel intacta.
  • Debe evitarse el contacto con los ojos.

En caso de problemas venosos causados por coágulos de sangre (como por ejemplo tromboembolismo, obstrucción de un vaso sanguíneo que dificulta el flujo de sangre), serecomienda aplicar el producto suavemente y sin masaje.

  • No se debe utilizar de forma prolongada ni en zonas muy extensas de la piel.

Uso de Hirudoid con otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

No se recomienda aplicar otros preparados de uso cutáneo en la misma zona sin consultar a su médico.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

No debe utilizar Hirudoid durante el embarazo o la lactancia a no ser que su médico le indique lo contrario.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Hirudoid contiene propilenglicol

Este medicamento contiene 5 mg de propilenglicol en cada gramo de gel. El propilenglicol puede provocar irritación en la piel.

Este medicamento contiene propilenglicol, no utilizar en heridas abiertas o grandes áreas de piel dañada (como quemaduras) sin consultar antes con su médico o farmacéutico.

3. Cómo usar Hirudoid

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Este medicamento es de uso cutáneo (exclusivamente sobre la piel). La dosis recomendada es:

Trastornos venosos superficiales

Adultos:aplicar una fina capa de gel o pomada sobre la zona afectada de 2 a 3 veces al díadistribuyéndola con un ligero masaje para facilitar su penetración.

Lávese las manos después de cada aplicación a fin de evitar un contacto involuntario con ojos y mucosas.

La duración media del tratamiento suele ser de entre 1 y 2 semanas de duración. Si los síntomas empeoran o persisten después de 5 días de tratamiento, debe consultar al médico.

Niños menores de 18 años: no utilizar sin supervisión médica.

Hematomas:

Adultos y niños mayores de 1 año: aplicar una fina capa de gel o pomada sobre la zona afectada de2 a 3 veces al día distribuyéndola con un ligero masaje para facilitar su penetración.

Lávese las manos después de cada aplicación a fin de evitar un contacto involuntario con ojos y mucosas. La duración media del tratamiento en hematomas suele ser inferior a 10 días. Si los síntomas empeoran o persisten después de 5 días de tratamiento, debe consultar al médico. Niños menores de 1 año: no utilizar sin supervisión médica.

Si usa más Hirudoid del que debe

Si ha utilizado más Hirudoid del que debiera o en caso de ingestión accidental, consulte al Servicio de Información Toxicológica. Teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

La ingestión accidental de grandes cantidades de Hirudoid gel por su contenido en alcohol isopropílico, puede causar síntomas de intoxicación aguda por alcohol.

En caso de posible intoxicación por alcohol, deben iniciarse de inmediato medidas especiales de carácter terapéutico.

Si olvidó usar Hirudoid

No aplique una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

Debe continuar el tratamiento con normalidad sin que sea necesario tomar ninguna acción en particular.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Hirudoid puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Se ha observado que de forma muy rara (afecta a menos de 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes), pueden aparecer reacciones de tipo alérgico en el lugar de aplicación, que pueden manifestarse por picor e irritación, y que desaparecen al interrumpir el tratamiento.

5. Conservación de Hirudoid

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Debe desechar el tubo 12 meses después de la primera apertura. Escriba la fecha de apertura en el espacio provisto en la caja.

Este medicamento no requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los

medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Hirudoid

  • El principio activo es condroitina sulfato de sodio. Cada gramo de gel contiene 3 miligramos de condroitina sulfato de sodio.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son alcohol isopropílico, hidróxido de sodio, propilenglicol, ácido poliacrílico y agua purificada.
