1. Qué es EchinaMed gotas y para qué se utiliza

EchinaMed gotas es un medicamento a base de plantas indicado para el tratamiento de los síntomas del resfriado común en adultos, adolescentes y niños mayores de 12 años.

2. Antes de tomar EchinaMed gotas

No tome EchinaMed gotassi usted:

  • Es alérgico a las plantas de la familia de las Asteraceae (Compuestas), o a alguno de los componentes del producto.
  • Padece tuberculosis o sarcoidosis
  • Padece una enfermedad autoinmune.
  • Sufre condiciones que reducen su resistencia a una infección ( ejemplo SIDA)
  • Está sometido a un tratamiento con inmunosupresores
  • Sufre enfermedades que se caracterizan por un bajo recuento de glóbulos blancos tales como agranulocitosis o leucemia.
  • Tiene tendencia a tener alergias con síntomas de urticaria, eczema o asma.

No se debe administrar a niños menores de 1 año

Tenga especial cuidado con EchinaMed gotas

  • Si durante el uso del medicamento, los síntomas empeoran o hay fiebre alta, se debe consultar a un médico o a un farmacéutico.
  • Existe un posible riesgo de reacción anafiláctica en pacientes atópicos, quienes deberán consultar a su médico antes de tomar este medicamento.
  • Este medicamento contiene 65 % V/V de etanol (alcohol) equivalente a 458

mg de alcohol por dosis de 25 gotas equivalente a unos 13 ml de cerveza ó a unos 5 ml de

vino.

  • Este medicamento es nocivo para alcohólicos y se debe vigilar su toma en el

embarazo, la lactancia, en niños y en grupos de alto riesgo como pacientes

con enfermedades hepáticas o epilépticos.

Toma de otros medicamentos:

No se recomienda tomar este medicamento junto a inmunosupresores tales como ciclosporina y metotrexato.

Este medicamento contiene alcohol, no debe ser tomado simultáneamente con otros medicamentos para los que se han descrito interacciones con el alcohol (por ejemplo, metronidazol)

Embarazo y Lactancia

Como medida de precaución y en ausencia de datos suficientes, el uso durante el embarazo y la lactancia no está recomendado sin la supervisión de un médico.

IMPORTANTE PARA LA MUJER

Si usted está embarazada o cree que pudiera estarlo, consulte a su médico antes de tomar este medicamento. El consumo de medicamentos durante el embarazo puede ser peligroso para el embrión o el feto y debe ser vigilado por su médico.

El contenido en alcohol debe tenerse en cuenta en el caso de mujeres embarazadas o en periodo de lactancia.

Conducción y uso de maquinarias:

No se han realizado estudios de los efectos de EchinaMed gotas sobre la capacidad para conducir vehículos y utilizar maquinaria. Sin embargo basándose en su actividad, es improbable que EchinaMed gotas altere esta capacidad.

3. Cómo tomar EchinaMed gotas

EchinaMed gotas es un medicamento que se administra por vía oral.

La dosis diaria recomendada para adultos, adolescentes y niños mayores de 12 años es de 25 gotas de 3 a 5 veces al día.

Las gotas se deben tomar con un poco de agua. Se debe comenzar el tratamiento cuando se detecten los primeros síntomas del resfriado.

No se debe utilizar más de la dosis recomendada.

No tomar este medicamento por más de 10 días.

Si los síntomas persisten por más de 10 días, se debe consultar al médico o al farmacéutico.

No se recomienda el uso en niños menores de 12 años.

Está contraindicado el uso en niños menores de 1 año.

Si usted toma más EchinaMed gotas de lo que debiera:

En caso de una toma excesiva, cabe esperar síntomas de acuerdo a la cantidad ingerida de alcohol.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, acuda a un centro médico o consulte al Servicio de información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 0420, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar EchinaMed gotas

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Asegúrese de haber leído el apartado 2 de este prospecto

No tome EchinaMed gotas si usted es alérgico a las plantas de la familia de las Asteraceae (Compuestas), o a alguno de los componentes del producto.

Como todos los medicamentos EchinaMed gotas puede tener efectos adversos.

Interrumpa el tratamiento y consulte a su médico si se producen reacciones alérgicas

como:

  • Erupción cutánea (rash)
  • Urticaria
  • Trastornos inflamatorios de la piel (Síndrome de Stevens-Johnson)
  • Hinchazón de la piel debido a líquido
  • Hinchazón de la cara (edema de Quincke)
  • Reducción del paso del aire a los pulmones (broncoespasmo)
  • Asma y reacciones alérgicas graves (shock anafiláctico)

La echinacea puede desencadenar reacciones alérgicas en pacientes atópicos.

Se ha notificado la relación con enfermedades autoinmunes tales como:

  • inflamación del cerebro y de la médula espinal (encefalitis diseminada)
  • bultos dolorosos en la espinilla (eritema nudoso)
  • disminución de las plaquetas (inmunotrombocitopenia)
  • destrucción de las células sanguíneas por anticuerpos (Síndrome de Evans)
  • sequedad de ojos y boca con alteración tubular renal (Síndrome de Sjögren)

Puede ocurrir leucopenia en uso a largo plazo (más de 8 semanas)

5. Conservación de EchinaMed gotas

Almacenar a temperatura ambiente.

Mantener fuera del alcance y la vista de los niños.

No utilice EchinaMed gotas después de la fecha de caducidad indicada en el envase.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura.

Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger al medio ambiente.
