1. Qué es Aciclovir Cinfa y para qué se utiliza

Aciclovir pertenece al grupo de medicamentos llamados antivirales.

Se utiliza para tratar infecciones causadas por el virus del herpes zóster y el virus varicela en adultos y niños mayores de 6 años.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Aciclovir Cinfa

No tome Aciclovir Cinfa

  • si es alérgico al aciclovir, valaciclovir o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Aciclovir Cinfa:

  • Si padece alguna enfermedad del riñón o tiene usted edad avanzada. Es posible que su médico necesite bajarle la dosis. Asimismo, debe beber suficiente cantidad de líquido durante el tratamiento para mantener una hidratación adecuada.
  • Si padece infección por herpes genital, se recomienda tomar precauciones durante las relaciones sexuales aunque se haya iniciado el tratamiento antiviral.

Otros medicamentos y Aciclovir Cinfa

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Comunique a su médico si ha tomado recientemente probenecid, cimetidina o micofenolato de mofetilo (medicamento utilizado en pacientes trasplantados).

Embarazo y lactancia

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Algunos efectos adversos como somnolencia o sueño pueden afectar a su capacidad para concentrarse y reaccionar. No conduzca o maneje maquinaria si siente que su capacidad está afectada.

Aciclovir Cinfa contiene sodio

Este medicamento contiene menos de 23 mg de sodio (1mmol) por comprimido; esto es, esencialmente “exento de sodio”.

3. Cómo tomar Aciclovir Cinfa

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Su médico decidirá la dosis correcta, la frecuencia y la duración del tratamiento.

Recuerde tomar su medicamento.

Su médico le indicará la duración de su tratamiento con Aciclovir. No suspenda el tratamiento antes.

Las dosis recomendadas para adultos son:

  • para el tratamiento de infecciones por herpes zóster: un comprimido de 800 mg cinco veces al día, cada cuatro horas, omitiendo la dosis nocturna
  • para el tratamiento de varicela: un comprimido de 800 mg cinco veces al día, cada cuatro horas, omitiendo la dosis nocturna.

Uso en niños

Las dosis recomendadas para niños mayores de 6 años son:

  • para el tratamiento de varicela: un comprimido de 800 mg cuatro veces al día.

Disolver el comprimido en un mínimo de 50 ml de agua y agitar antes de tomar.

La ranura sirve únicamente para partir el comprimido si le resulta difícil tragarlo entero.

Se recomienda que beba mucho líquido mientras esté con este tratamiento.

Si estima que la acción de aciclovir es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si toma más Aciclovir Cinfa del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Aciclovir Cinfa

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas, simplemente espere a la siguiente dosis.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

  • Dolor de cabeza, mareos, sensación de cansancio, fiebre.
  • Náuseas, vómitos, diarrea, dolor de estómago.

  • Alteración de los análisis de sangre (aumentos reversibles de bilirrubina y enzimas hepáticas, aumentos de la urea sanguínea y la creatinina).
  • Dificultad para respirar.
  • Angioedema (hinchazón de los labios, los ojos y la lengua).
  • Reacción alérgica repentina y grave (reacción anafiláctica).

Efectos adversosmuy raros (pueden afectar hasta 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes)

  • Anemia (descenso del número de glóbulos rojos) o leucopenia (descenso del número de glóbulos blancos), cardenales (por descenso en el número de plaquetas).
  • Agitación, confusión, temblores, dificultad de movimientos, dificultad al hablar, confusión o imaginación de cosas (alucinaciones), alteraciones en la personalidad y el comportamiento de la persona, convulsiones, somnolencia, encefalopatía (alteración en el cerebro), coma. Estos efectos son generalmente reversibles y normalmente aparecieron en pacientes con trastornos de los riñones o con factores predisponentes.
  • Hepatitis (inflamación del hígado), ictericia (color amarillo de la piel y ojos), fallo renal agudo, dolor renal (puede estar asociado a fallo renal).

Estos síntomas pueden significar que usted es alérgico a aciclovir. No tomemás comprimidos a menos que su médico se lo indique.

5. Conservación de Aciclovir Cinfa

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30ºC. Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la humedad.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda, pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición deAciclovir Cinfa

El principio activo es aciclovir. Cada comprimido dispersable contiene 800 mg de aciclovir.

Los demás componentes (excipientes) son:

  • Núcleo del comprimido: celulosa microcristalina, carboximetilalmidón sódico (tipo A) (de patata), sílice coloidal anhidra, povidona, estearato de magnesio y talco.
  • Recubrimiento: Opadry blanco Y-1-7000 (contiene hidroxipropilmetilcelulosa, dióxido de titanio y polietilenglicol 400).

Aspecto del producto y contenido del envase

Comprimidos de color blanco, oblongos, recubiertos, con ranura en una cara y marcados con el código “A800C” por la otra. Se acondicionan en blísteres de PVC-PVDC/aluminio. Cada envase contiene 35 comprimidos dispersables.
