First thing to do:
· Take the missed tablet as soon as you remember.
· Check the packaging: if it is a 28-day cycle, the last pills often do not contain hormones (pacifiers) - skipping them is not a problem.
-
Combined (COC, 2 hormones)
These tablets forgive minor delays.
· Late < 24 hours: Take the missed tablet and continue as scheduled. The protection remains.
· Missing 2+ tablets (>48 hours): Take the last missed tablet, skip the remaining missed tablets. Use condoms for the next 7 days. -
Mini-pill (Pure progestin)
Very demanding of time.
· Delay > 3 hours: Take a pill (even if you have to take 2 a day) and use condoms for the next 2 days (48 hours).
What to do in special cases:
· Had unprotected sex 5 days before the pass: Emergency contraception is strongly recommended (up to 72 hours, preferably in the first 24 hours).
· Vomiting/diarrhea within 2 hours of taking the tablet: Consider it as if you have not taken the tablet. Accept the new one and follow the pass rules.
If you are not sure about the type of tablets or the number of missed tablets is more than two, it is better to take additional protection for 7 days. If you doubt the risk of pregnancy, consult your doctor for emergency contraception.

If you missed a birth control pill, take it as soon as you remember and then continue the rest of the pack as usual. If only one pill was missed, contraceptive protection is generally maintained. If two or more pills were missed, use condoms for the next 7 days and consider emergency contraception if you had unprotected sex recently. The exact advice depends on the type of pill and how many pills were missed. Please provide the pill name and details of the missed doses for specific guidance.
