Zolico son comprimidos de 400 microgramos de ácido fólico en envase de 28 comprimidos.

Zolico está indicado en la profilaxis de defectos en el tubo neural (espina bífida, anencefalia, encefalocele) y otros defectos congénitos en mujeres que estén planificando un embarazo, y durante el primer trimestre del mismo.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Zolico

No tome Zolico

  • Si es alérgica al principio activo o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Zolico.

Si debe tomar más de 1 mg/día de ácido fólico, consulte a su médico para que descarte una anemia por deficiencia de vitamina B12.

Otros medicamentos y Zolico

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Zolico puede interaccionar con antagonistas del ácido fólico (metotrexato, trimetoprim), antiepilépticos, estrógenos, sulfamidas, corticosteroides (uso prolongado) y alcohol.

3. Cómo tomar Zolico

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es un comprimido (400 microgramos de ácido fólico) una vez al día, comenzando al menos un mes antes de la gestación y continuando el tratamiento durante el primer trimestre del embarazo.

Esta dosis puede aumentar a 2 comprimidos (800 microgramos de ácido fólico) diarios cuando existan estados que produzcan un aumento de las necesidades.

Si toma más Zolico del que debe

No tome más cantidad diaria de Zolico de la que le han recetado en un día.

Si usted ha tomado más Zolico de lo que debe, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte con su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada.

No obstante, Zolico, a las dosis habituales, es bien tolerado por el organismo, no existiendo la posibilidad de intoxicación aguda, crónica o accidental. Dosis muy superiores de ácido fólico a las de este medicamento son bien toleradas, por lo que no es de temer intoxicación incluso por ingestión masiva accidental.

Si olvidó tomar Zolico

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Zolico

No deje de tomar su tratamiento ni reduzca la dosis sin el consejo de su médico, aun cuando se sienta mejor.

Su médico le aconsejará cómo debe interrumpir gradualmente el tratamiento con Zolico.

Si experimenta cualquier síntoma que le resulte molesto, consulte a su médico para que le aconseje de nuevo.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran. Excepcionalmente, pueden aparecer reacciones de hipersensibilidad (fiebre, rash cutáneo) a alguno de los componentes y con frecuencia no conocida reacción alérgica severa (reacción anafiláctica)

5. Conservación de Zolico

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 30ºC.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase, después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No utilice este medicamento si observa cualquier deterioro de su contenido.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Zolico

El principio activo es ácido fólico. Cada comprimido contiene 400 microgramos de ácido fólico (como ácido fólico hidrato).

Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: carboximetilalmidón sódico (tipo A) (de patata), estearato de magnesio, lactosa monohidrato y celulosa microcristalina.
