1. Qué es THROMBOCID y para qué se utiliza

Este medicamento es una pomada para uso cutáneo que aplicada sobre la piel mejora el flujo sanguíneo. Pertenece al grupo de medicamentos llamados antivaricosos tópicos.

Thrombocid está indicado para:

Alivio local sintomático de los trastornos venosos superficiales como pesadez y tirantez en piernas con varices en adultos.

Alivio local sintomático de hematomas superficiales producidos por golpes en adultos y niños mayores de 1 año.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar THROMBOCID

No use Thrombocid

Si es alérgico (hipersensible) al pentosano polisulfato sódico o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6)..

Si padece alteraciones importantes de la coagulación.

No aplicar sobre mucosas, úlceras y heridas abiertas o infectadas.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Thrombocid.

Este medicamento es sólo para uso cutáneo (sobre la piel).

Debe utilizarse sólo en piel intacta.

Debe evitarse el contacto con los ojos.

En caso de problemas venosos causados por coágulos de sangre (como por ejemplo tromboembolismo), se recomienda aplicar el producto suavemente y sin masaje.

No debe utilizarse de forma prolongada ni en zonas muy extensas de la piel.

Niños:

No se debe utilizar Thrombocid en niños menores de 1 año, ya que no se han realizado estudios en ellos.

Otros medicamentos y Thrombocid

No se recomienda aplicar otros preparados de uso cutáneo en la misma zona.

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando o ha utilizado recientemente o pudiera tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de usar cualquier medicamento.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de Thrombocid sobre la capacidad para conducir y utilizar máquinas es nula o insignificante.

Thrombocid contiene alcohol cetoestearílico, aceite de ricino polioxietilenado, butilhidroxianisol (E230), propilenglicol (E1520), parahidroxibenzoato de etilo (E214) y parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E218).

Este medicamento puede producir reacciones locales en la piel (como dermatitis de contacto) porque contiene alcohol cetoestearílico.

3. Cómo usar THROMBOCID

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o famracéutico. En caso de duda, pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es:

Adultos y niños mayores de 1 año: Aplicar una fina capa de pomada sobre la zona de la piel afectada, 3 ó 4 veces al día.

Niños menores de 1 año: No se recomienda usar Thrombocid en niños menores de 1 año, debido a la falta de información en esta población.

Aplique el preparado efectuando un ligero masaje para facilitar la penetración y lávese las manos después de cada aplicación. Generalmente no hace falta vendaje, aunque puede cubrirse con una gasa o compresa si se cree necesario.

Si los síntomas empeoran o duran más de 5 días, o bien se produce irritación o empeoramiento, interrumpa la aplicación y consulte a su médico.

Si estima que la acción de Thrombocid es demasiado fuerte o débil, comuníqueselo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Si usa más Thrombocid del que debe

El uso de más pomada de la recomendada puede producir irritación en la piel.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Thrombocid puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas lo sufran.

Se ha observado que de forma muy rara (afecta menos de 1 de cada 10.000 pacientes), reacciones alérgicas en el lugar de aplicación, que pueden manifestarse como picor e irritación y que desaparecen al interrumpir el tratamiento.

Si considera que alguno de los efectos adversos que sufre es grave o si aprecia cualquier efecto adverso no mencionado en este prospecto, informe a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de THROMBOCID

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Mantener el tubo perfectamente cerrado.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Thrombocid

  • El principio activo es Pentosano polisulfato sódico. Cada gramo de pomada contiene 1 miligramo de pentosano polisulfato sódico.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: alcohol cetoestearílico, cetoestearilo sulfato sódico (E540i), aceite de ricino polioxietilenado, butilhidroxianisol (E320), ácido cítrico (E330), oleato de decilo, sorbitol (E420i), fenoxietanol, propilenglicol (E1520), fosfato dipotásico, dihidrógeno fosfato potásico, parahidroxibenzoato de etilo (E214), parahidroxibenzoato de metilo (E218), timol y agua.
