1. Qué es Tanagel y para qué se utiliza

Pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados antidiarreicos.

Tanagel contiene el principio activo gelatina tanato, está indicado en el tratamiento de los síntomas de la diarrea aguda inespecífica en adultos y adolescentes mayores de 14 años, cuando las medidas dietéticas y la rehidratación oral no son suficientes.

Debe consultar a un médico si empeora o si no mejora después de 2 días.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Tanagel

No tome Tanagel:

  • si es alérgico a la gelatina tanato, ácido tánico, gelatina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6),
  • si padece infección por bacterias en el intestino y tiene úlcera e inflamación gastrointestinal,
  • si tiene sangre en las heces,
  • si tiene fiebre alta,
  • si tiene algún problema en el hígado (insuficiencia hepática),
  • si se reproducen cambios repentinos en los hábitos intestinales que persisten más de dos semanas.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Tanagel si :

  • tiene una enfermedad de riñón o es un paciente de edad avanzada
  • tiene náuseas, vómitos, dolor abdominal o fiebre

Si no se observa mejoría en 2 días, consulte a su médico.

Los pacientes con diarrea deben beber abundantes líquidos, para evitar la deshidratación que se manifiesta por sequedad de boca, sed excesiva, disminución de la cantidad de orina, piel arrugada, mareo, aturdimiento. Esto es especialmente importante en personas de edad avanzada.

Puesto que el tratamiento de la diarrea con Tanagel es sólo sintomático, la diarrea debe tratarse teniendo en cuenta su causa, cuando esto sea posible.

Niños y adolescentes

Tanagel no debe ser utilizado en niños y adolescentes menores de 14 años.

Uso de Tanagel con otros medicamentos

Comunique a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o podría tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

No tome Tanagel junto con otros antidiarreicos. Tampoco se recomienda tomar Tanagel con medicamentos que contengan en su composición sales de hierro, compuestos de bismuto, hidróxidos o carbonatos alcalinos, ya que disminuiría la absorción de los mismos.

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que pudiera estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Toma de Tanagel con alimentos y bebidas

Mientras dure la administración es conveniente beber gran cantidad de agua y otros líquidos.

Tanagel se puede tomar mezclado con leche, yogurt, zumos o papillas, preferentemente de frutas.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

Tanagel no afecta a su capacidad para conducir o manejar maquinaria.

3. Cómo tomar Tanagel

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico

La dosis recomendada para adultos y adolescentes mayores de 14 años es: 2 sobres (500 mg de gelatina tanato) cada 4-6 horas, hasta un máximo de 12 sobres (3.000 mg de gelatina tanato) al día.

Forma de administración

Este medicamento se toma por via oral

Disolver el contenido del sobre en agua o en leche.

También se puede ingerir el polvo mezclado con comidas, yogurt, zumos o papillas, preferentemente de frutas.

Mientras dure la administración, es conveniente beber gran cantidad de agua y otros líquidos.

Si los síntomas empeoran o si persisten después de 2 días se deberá evaluar la situación clínica del paciente.

Si toma más Tanagel del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica: Telf.: 91.562.04.20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Tanagel

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, éste medicamento puede producir efectos adversos aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Tanagel

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice Tanagel después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
