1. What SYRON 80 mg is and what it is used for

SYRON 80 mg is presented in the form of granules in monodose sachets. Each package contains 15 or 30 monodose sachets.

SYRON 80 mg belongs to a group of medicines called trivalent iron oral preparations.

SYRON 80 mg normalizes altered hematological parameters in iron deficiency states.

SYRON 80 mg is used in adult patients for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia and iron deficiency states.

2. What you need to know before taking SYRON 80 mg

Do not take SYRON 80 mg:

  • If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Ferrimanitol Ovoalbumin or any of the other components of SYRON 80 mg (listed in section 6).
  • If you have hemosiderosis and hemochromatosis (iron deposition diseases).
  • If you have anemia not related to iron deficiency, such as aplastic anemia, hemolytic anemia, and sideroblastic anemia.
  • If you have chronic pancreatitis and liver cirrhosis.
  • If you have chronic inflammation of the pancreas and liver cirrhosis.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take SYRON 80 mg.

If you have or have had gastric or duodenal ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, or liver failure.

If you are taking or are going to start taking any anti-acid medication, tetracyclines, quinolones, calcium salts, or levodopa.

Other medicines and SYRON 80 mg:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or may need to use any other medicine, including those obtained without a prescription.

SYRON 80 mg should not be administered together with:

  1. - Tetracyclines or penicillamine, as they may mutually decrease oral absorption.
    1. - Calcium salts, quinolones (ciprofloxacin, etc.), and levodopa, as iron preparations may decrease the absorption of these medicines.
  2. - Anti-acids, as they may decrease the absorption of iron preparations.

The intake of any of these medicines should be spaced at least 2 hours from the administration of SYRON 80 mg.

Taking Syron 80 mg with food and drinks

SYRON 80 mg should not be administered together with milk or dairy products.

Pregnancy and lactation:

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

In studies conducted with ferrimanitol ovoalbumin in pregnant women, no problems for the fetus have been detected. There is no data available on the excretion of ferrimanitol ovoalbumin in breast milk.

Driving and using machines:

No signs of affecting the ability to drive vehicles and use machinery have been described.

SYRON 80 mg contains lactose.

If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult with them before taking this medicine.

3. How to take SYRON 80 mg

Follow the administration instructions of Syron 80 mg indicated by your doctor. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.

Your doctor will indicate the duration of treatment with SYRON 80 mg. Do not stop treatment before, as there is a risk of relapse of the disease.

The recommended dose is 1 sachet per day after the main meal. Pour the contents of the sachet into 200 ml of water and shake until a uniform solution is obtained. The solution should be ingested immediately.

If you think the action of SYRON 80 mg is too strong or too weak, inform your doctor or pharmacist.

If you take more SYRON 80 mg than you should:

If you have taken more SYRON 80 mg than recommended, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately, or call the Toxicology Information Service, phone 91 562 04 20.

If you forget to take SYRON 80 mg:

In case you have forgotten a dose, take another as soon as possible and continue with the usual schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed doses.

Gastrointestinal irritation symptoms with nausea and vomiting may be observed.

Your doctor will indicate the duration of treatment with Syron 80 mg. Do not stop treatment before, even if you feel better.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, SYRON 80 mg can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

Occasionally, gastrointestinal disorders (stomach pain, nausea, constipation, or diarrhea) have been described, which usually disappear when the administered dose is decreased or, if necessary, after treatment is suspended. Deposits with black pigmentation.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

No special storage conditions are required. Keep SYRON 80 mg in its original package.

Do not use SYRON 80 mg after the expiration date shown on the package after CAD.

Medicines should not be disposed of through wastewater or household waste. Deposit the packages and medicines you no longer need in the SIGRE Circular symbol with a cross in the center and a curved arrow indicating a continuous cycle or process point at the pharmacy. In case of doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of packages and medicines you no longer need. This will help protect the environment.
