Vaselina Pura CUVE ointment

Read this leaflet carefully before you start using this medicine, because it contains important information for you.

  • You should consult a doctor if it worsens or does not improve after 6 days.

1. What is Pure Vaseline CUVE and what is it used for

Pure Vaseline CUVE is a cream that contains vaseline as its active ingredient, which is a moisturizer and a skin protector due to its emollient properties (softening).

It is indicated for skin use in the symptomatic relief of dryness, mild irritation, and skin excoriations (scratches).

As a general lubricant.

For use by qualified healthcare personnel: as a lubricant for rectal examinations or application of dressings.

2. What you need to know before starting to use Pure Vaseline CUVE

Do not use Pure Vaseline CUVE

  • If you are allergic to petroleum jelly (it does not contain excipients).
  • In areas of the skin that are infected, inflamed, or have any wound, and in case of inflammatory skin diseases.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse before starting to usePure Vaseline CUVE.

  • This medication is exclusively for external use, do not ingest.
  • Avoid contact of the medication with the eyes.

In any case, if the discomfort increases during treatment or after 6 days of the same, or persists after its interruption, you must consult the doctor.

Children

There are no data on use in children in explorations.

Other medications and Pure Vaseline CUVE

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have used recently, or may have to use any other medication.

The use of this medication does not interact with the use of other medications.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or intend to become pregnant,consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.

Given the type of medication involved and the administration route, this medication can be used during pregnancy.

Do not apply the medication to the nipples if breastfeeding a baby.

Driving and operating machines

Not applicable.

3. How to use Pure Vaseline CUVE

Followexactly theadministration instructions of the medication contained in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. In case of doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is:

On the skin: apply a thin layer of the product to the affected area 1 to 3 times a day.

During examinations: apply a thin layer of the product to the friction area before the examination.

Cutaneous use.

By qualified healthcare personnel: other administration routes.

If you use more Pure Vaseline CUVE than you should

Given the type of medication involved and the administration route, no cases of intoxication due to overdose have been reported associated with the use of vaseline in cutaneous use.

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist or call the Toxicological Information Service, Phone: 91 562 04 20, indicating the medication and the amount ingested.

If you have any other questions about the use of this medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible Adverse Effects

Like all medications, this medication may produce adverse effects, although not everyone will experience them.

Although no adverse effects have been observed, some may still occur.

Rarely (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) sensitivity reactions have occurred in susceptible individuals.

It may also produce acne, although the exact frequency is unknown.

Inflammatory reactions have also been reported following non-indicated use.

If you experience any type of adverse effect, consult your doctor or pharmacist, even if it is a possible adverse effect not listed in this prospectus. You can also report them directly through the Spanish System for Pharmacovigilance of Medicinal Products for Human Use:www.notificaRAM.es. By reporting adverse effects, you can contribute to providing more information about the safety of this medication.

5. Conservation of Pure Vaseline CUVE

Keep this medication out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not store at a temperature above 30°C.

Do not use this medication after the expiration date that appears on the packaging after CAD.The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.

Medicines should not be disposed of through drains or in the trash. Dispose of the packaging and medications you no longer need at theSIGREcollection point at the pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the packaging and medications you no longer need. By doing so, you will help protect the environment.

6. Content of the packaging and additional information

Composition of VASELINA PURA CUVE ointment

  • The active ingredient is: Petroleum jelly. 1 g of ointment contains 1 g of petroleum jelly.
  • It does not contain excipients.

Appearance of the product and content of the packaging

The ointment has a soft, translucent, white or almost white paste-like appearance.

It is presented in an aluminum tube containing 30 g of ointment.
