Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might use any other medicines.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding, and fertility

Do not use Travoprost Stada if you are pregnant. If you think you may be pregnant, tell your doctor immediately. If you can become pregnant, you must use an effective method of birth control while using travoprost.

Do not use Travoprost Stada if you are breast-feeding. Travoprost may pass into breast milk.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.

Driving and using machines

You may notice blurred vision immediately after applying travoprost. Do not drive or use machines until this effect has worn off.

Travoprost Stada contains benzalkonium chloride

This medicine contains 0.15 mg of benzalkonium chloride per ml.

Benzalkonium chloride may be absorbed by soft contact lenses and change their color. Remove contact lenses before using this medicine and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in.

Benzalkonium chloride may cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or other corneal diseases (diseases of the transparent layer on the front of the eye). Talk to your doctor if you feel any unusual sensation, itching, or pain in the eye after using this medicine.

Travoprost Stada contains macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate 40

This medicine may cause skin reactions because it contains macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate 40.

3. How to use Travoprost Stada

Follow exactly the instructions given to you by your doctor or your child's doctor for the administration of this medicine. If you are unsure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist again.

The recommended dose is:

One drop into the affected eye(s) once daily, in the evening.

Travoprost should only be applied to both eyes if your doctor has told you to do so. Continue the treatment for the period of time recommended by your doctor or your child's doctor.

Travoprost Stada should only be used as eye drops.

1Needle connected to a vial with a circular rubber stopper and concentric lines showing insertion

  • Immediately before using a bottle for the first time, open the bag, remove the bottle (figure 1), and write the date of opening on the space provided on the label.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Remove the cap.

2Human eye with detailed eyelashes and an arrow pointing down below the iris

  • Hold the bottle, upside down, between your fingers.
  • Tilt your head or your child's head gently backwards. Gently pull the lower eyelid down to form a pocket between the eyelid and the eye. The drop should fall into this pocket (figure 2).
  • Bring the tip of the bottle close to the eye. You may find it helpful to look in a mirror.

3Tweezers holding a nail with nail clippers trimming the top right corner

  • Do not touch the eye, eyelid, or surrounding areas with the dropper. The drops could become infected.
  • Gently squeeze the bottle to release one drop of travoprost at a time (figure 3).
  • After using travoprost, gently close your eyes, press the edge of your eye, next to your nose (figure 4), for at least 1 minute. This helps prevent travoprost from passing to the rest of the body.

4Application of eye drops with hand holding the bottle and lower eyelid stretched

  • If you are applying drops to both eyes, repeat the above steps for the other eye.
  • Close the bottle tightly after use.
  • Use one bottle at a time. Do not open the bag until you need to use the bottle.

If a drop falls outside the eye, try again.

If you or your child are using other eye medicines, such as eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 minutes between applying travoprost and the other eye medicines.

If you or your child receive more Travoprost Stada than you should

Rinse your eye with lukewarm water. Do not apply more drops until the next dose is due.

If you forget to use Travoprost Stada

Continue with the next dose as planned. Do notapply a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Never apply more than one drop per day to the affected eye(s).

If you stop using Travoprost Stada

Do not stop using travoprost without talking to your doctor or your child's doctor first. The pressure in your eye or your child's eye will not be controlled, which could lead to loss of vision.

If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
