Follow exactly the instructions of administration of this medicine indicated by your doctor or the doctor treating the child. In case of doubt, consult again with your doctor, the doctor treating the child or the pharmacist.

The recommended dose is

One drop in the affected eye(s), once a day- at night.

Travoprost should only be used as eye drops.

1Needle connected to a vial with a rubber stopper and an arrow indicating the direction of insertion

  • Immediately before using a bottle for the first time, open the packaging bag, take out the bottle (figure 1) and write the opening date in the space provided on the carton.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Remove the cap.

2Human eye with detailed eyelashes and an arrow pointing downwards below the iris

  • Hold the bottle, upside down, between your fingers.
  • Tilt your head or the child's head gently backwards. Gently pull the lower eyelid down until a pocket is formed, where the drop should fall (figure 2).
  • Bring the tip of the bottle close to the eye. You may find it helpful to look in a mirror.

3Needle inserted into the skin with an applicator device and tweezers holding the skin fold

  • Do not touch the eye, eyelid, surrounding areas or other surfaces with the dropper, as the drops may become infected.
  • Gently squeeze the bottle to release one drop of travoprost at a time (figure 3).
  • After using travoprost, close your eyes gently and press the edge of your eye, next to your nose (figure 4) for at least 1 minute. This helps prevent travoprost from passing to the rest of the body.

4Human eye showing upper and lower eyelid with application of eye drops in the conjunctival sac

  • If you are applying drops in both eyes, repeat the above steps for the other eye.
  • Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.

If you stop using Tavliant

Do not stop using travoprost without talking to your doctor or the doctor treating the child first, as the pressure in your eye or the child's eye will not be controlled, which could lead to loss of vision.
