1. What is Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals and what is it used for

Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals is a medication used to relieve pain and reduce fever (analgesic and antipyretic medication).

Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and febrile states in adults and children 16 years of age or older (or with a body weight of 50 kg or more).

2. What you need to know before starting to take Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals

Do not take Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals

  • If you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other components of this medication (listed in section6).

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take Paracetamol Mylan Pharmaceuticals:

  • If you have kidney problems.
  • If you have liver problems, for example, a condition called Gilbert's syndrome, severe liver insufficiency (Child-Pugh > 9), liver inflammation, or if you use medications that affect liver function.
  • If you have hemolytic anemia (a decrease in red blood cells that can cause yellow skin discoloration and weakness or difficulty breathing).
  • If you have enzyme deficiency (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency).
  • If you regularly consume excessive amounts of alcohol.
  • If you have dehydration (your body does not have enough water or fluid) or severe malnutrition (your body does not have the correct amount of nutrients needed to maintain healthy tissues and organ function).
  • If you are asthmatic and sensitive to acetylsalicylic acid.

Do not use paracetamol frequently for a long period of time, as prolonged or frequent use can cause liver problems. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you plan to take paracetamol for a longer period.

Prolonged use, high doses, or incorrect use of analgesics can cause headaches that should not be treated with higher doses of this medication.

Do not use this medication without consulting a doctor if you have a history of alcohol addiction or liver damage. Do not use this medication with alcohol. The effect of alcohol does not increase when taking this medication.

Never take more paracetamol than recommended in section3 of this prospectus. A higher dose will not increase pain relief, but could cause severe liver damage. Liver damage symptoms usually appear within a couple of days. It is very important to inform your doctor as soon as possible if you have taken more doses than recommended.

Children

The use of this medication is not recommended in children under 16years of age or weighing less than 50kg.
