Contents of the Package Leaflet:
OFTALMOLOSA CUSÍ CHLORAMPHENICOL is an ophthalmic ointment that contains an active substance (chloramphenicol) which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, with bacteriostatic action, that acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections and are not effective against viral infections. It is essential that you follow the instructions regarding dosage, administration interval, and treatment duration indicated by your doctor. Do not store or reuse this medicine. If you have any leftover antibiotic after completing the treatment, return it to the pharmacy for proper disposal. Do not throw medicines down the drain or in the trash. |
This medicine is indicated in adults and children to treat infections of the anterior segment of the eye (conjunctiva and/or cornea) caused by microorganisms sensitive to chloramphenicol. In cases of severe infections, application to the eye should be complemented with systemic administration of an appropriate antibiotic.
