Amoxicillin belongs to the group of medicines known as "penicillins" which can sometimes lose their effectiveness (become inactivated). The other component (clavulanic acid) prevents this from happening.
Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections and are not effective against viral infections such as the flu or the common cold. It is important that you follow the instructions regarding dosage, administration, and duration of treatment as indicated by your doctor. Do not store or reuse this medicine.
