1. Qué es Normosept y para qué se utiliza

Es un medicamento para uso cutáneo que contiene clorhexidina como principio activo. La clorhexidina es un antiseptico que se aplica sobre la piel.

Está indicado como antiséptico de heridas y quemaduras leves de la piel y como antiséptico del ombligo en recién nacidos.

Sí los síntomas empeoran después de 5 días, consulte a su médico.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Normosept

No use Normosept:

  • Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a la clorhexidina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

No utilizar en ojos ni oídos, ni en el interior de la boca u otras mucosas.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Normosept.

  • Este medicamento es exclusivamente de uso externo sobre la piel. No ingerir.
  • En caso de contacto accidental con oídos lavar inmediatamente con abundante agua.
  • Normosept no debe entrar en contacto con los ojos debido al riesgo de lesiones visuales. Si entra en contacto con los ojos, lávese inmediata y abundantemente con agua. En casos de irritación, enrojecimiento o dolor en los ojos, o alteraciones visuales, consulte a un médico inmediatamente.

Se han notificado casos graves de lesión persistente de la córnea (lesión de la superficie del ojo) que podría llegar a requerir un trasplante de córnea cuando productos similares han entrado accidentalmente en contacto con los ojos durante intervenciones quirúrgicas, en pacientes con anestesia general (sueño profundo inducido indoloro).

  • No debe utilizarse en caso de heridas profundas y extensas sin consultar al médico.
  • No debe aplicarse repetidamente, ni utilizarse sobre grandes superficies, con vendaje oclusivo (no transpirable), sobre la piel lesionada y en mucosas.
  • Las ropas que hayan estado en contacto con este medicamento, no deben lavarse con lejía ni otros hipocloritos pues se produciría una coloración parduzca en los tejidos, sino con detergentes domésticos a base de perborato sódico.
  • No debe utilizarse para la asepsia de zonas de punción o inyección, ni para la desinfección de material quirúrgico
  • Utilice con cuidado en neonatos, especialmente en niños prematuros. Normosept puede causar quemaduras químicas en la piel.
  • Consultar con el médico antes de utilizar en niños menores de 30 meses.

Uso de Normosept con otros medicamentos

  • Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando, ha utilizado recientemente o podría tener que utilizar cualquier otro medicamento.
  • Debe evitarse el uso de varios antisépticos a la vez o de forma sucesiva, salvo con otros compuestos catiónicos.
  • No debe usarse en combinación ni después de la aplicación de jabones aniónicos (jabones), ácidos, sales de metales pesados y yodo, por lo que debe aclararse bien la piel después de limpiarla.

Embarazo y lactancia

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmaceutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

La influencia de Normosept sobre la capacidad para conducir y utilizar maquinas es nula o insignificante.

3. Cómo usar Normosept

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento contenidas en este prospecto o las indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

Empléese sin diluir.

Se recomienda limpiar y secar la herida antes de aplicar Normosept. Aplicar sobre la zona afectada, o bien sobre una gasa, una o dos veces al día. No realizar más de dos aplicaciones diarias de producto.

Si usa más Normosept del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Normosept puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Pueden producirse reacciones alérgicas en la piel.

Otros posibles efectos adversos, para los que se desconoce con qué frecuencia se producen, son:

  • Lesión corneal (lesión en la superficie del ojo) y lesión ocular permanente, incluido deterioro visual permanente (tras la exposición ocular accidental durante las intervenciones quirúrgicas en la cabeza, la cara y el cuello) en pacientes bajo antestesia general (sueño profundo inducido indoloro).

Si considera que alguno de los efectos adversos que sufre es grave o si aprecia cualquier efectos adverso no mencionado en este prospecto, informe a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de Normosept

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

Conservar en el embalaje original protegido de la luz.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Normosept

  • El principio activo es: clorhexidina digluconato, cada ml contiene 10 mg de clorhexidina digluconato.
  • Los demás componentes (excipientes) son: nonoxinol 9, alcohol isopropílico y agua purificada.

Normosept es una solución transparente e incolora.

Se presenta en frasco de polietileno que contiene 30 ml.
