1. Qué es Lundeos y para qué se utiliza

Lundeos contiene vitamina D3 que regula la absorción y el metabolismo del calcio así como la incorporación del calcio al tejido óseo.

Lundeos está indicado en el tratamiento de la deficiencia de vitamina D en adultos.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Lundeos

No tome Lundeos:

  • si es alérgico al colecalciferol o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6);
  • si presenta altos niveles de calcio en sangre o en orina;
  • si tiene piedras en los riñones;
  • si tiene problemas graves con los riñones.

Advertencias y precauciones

Cuando usted toma Lundeos, su médico verificará el nivel de calcio en su sangre y / u orina para asegurarse de que no estén demasiado altos.

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Lundeos, si usted;

  • tiene un riesgo mucho mayor de desarrollar cálculos renales

Otros medicamentos y Vitamina D3

Informe a su médico si está tomando o ha tomado recientemente otros medicamentos tales como:

  • productos que contengan elevadas dosis de calcio ya que incrementan el riesgo de niveles elevados de calcio en sangre.
  • medicamentos indicados en el tratamiento de enfermedades del corazón (glicósidos cardiacos, como la digoxina). Su médico puede controlar su corazón con un electrocardiograma (ECG) y medir los niveles de calcio en la sangre.
  • diuréticos tiazídicos, ya que pueden aumentar el riesgo de hipercalcemia.
  • medicamentos para tratar la epilepsia (como la fenitoína) o para conciliar el sueño (barbitúricos, como el fenobarbital) ya que estos medicamentos pueden reducir el efecto de la vitamina D.
  • antibióticos para tratar infecciones bacterianas como la rifampicina e isoniazida.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo tomar Lundeos

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración del medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda pregunte a su médico o farmacéutico.

La cantidad de Lundeos va a depender de sus niveles de vitamina D y de su respuesta al tratamiento.

Tratamiento de la deficiencia de vitamina D (dosis de carga) en adultos: 20.000 UI cada semana (1 cápsula)

Después del primer mes, se puede considerar bajar la dosis. Su médico decidirá cualquier tratamiento adicional que sea necesario con Lundeos.

Trague la cápsula entera (no masticada) con agua, preferiblemente junto con una comida abundante.

Uso en niños y adolescentes

Este medicamento no está recomendado en niños y adolescentes.

Si toma más Lundeos del que debe

Si ha tomado más cápsulas de Lundeos de las que debería, hable de inmediato con su médico o farmacéutico. Lleve el medicamento con usted.

Una sobredosis puede conducir a un aumento de los niveles de calcio en la sangre y en la orina que muestran las pruebas de laboratorio.

Los signos y síntomas de una sobredosis pueden ser pérdida de apetito, sed, náuseas, vómitos, diarrea seguida de estreñimiento, dolor abdominal, dolor de cabeza, dolor muscular y articular, debilidad muscular, fatiga, confusión, micción más frecuente de lo normal con calcio en la orina, problemas renales y, en casos graves, latidos cardíacos irregulares, coma o incluso la muerte.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, acuda a un centro médico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad utilizada.

Si olvidó tomar Lundeos

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas Si olvida tomar sus cápsulas, tómelas lo antes posible. Posteriormente, tome la siguiente dosis a la hora habitual siguiendo las indicaciones de su médico. No obstante, si se encuentra muy cerca de la hora de la siguiente dosis, no tome la dosis olvidada y, en su lugar, tome la siguiente dosis a la hora habitual.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Lundeos

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No use este medicamento si nota signos visibles de deterioro.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Lundeos

  • El principio activo es colecalciferol.
  • Los demás excipientes son: triglicéridos de cadena media, todo-rac-alfa-tocoferol, acetato, gelatina (E441), glicerol (E422) y sorbitol líquido (E420) (parcialmente deshidratado) y agua purificada.

Lundeos 20.000 UI son cápsulas de gelatina blanda, redondas, de color amarillo claro transparente que contienen líquido claro e incoloro.
