1. Qué es Iruxol Neo y para qué se utiliza

Los principios activos son enzimas proteolíticas que actúan sobre componentes de úlceras y heridas de la piel, y un antibiótico del tipo aminoglucósido. Está indicado en adultos, en el desbridamiento (limpieza y retirada) de los tejidos necrosados (muertos) en úlceras cutáneas de pequeña extensión de diversos orígenes, y reducción de la cantidad de bacterias superficiales.

2. Antes de usar Iruxol Neo

No use Iruxol Neo

-Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a los principios activos, a otros antibióticos del tipo aminoglucósidos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento.

Tenga especial cuidado con Iruxol Neo

-Iruxol Neo no debe utilizarse en áreas extensas, porque la neomicina podría absorberse a través de la piel y tener efectos adversos en otras áreas del cuerpo. Esto es más probable si padece enfermedad del riñón o si está en tratamiento además con algún antibiótico aminoglucósido por vía oral u otra vía (ej. amikacina, tobramicina o gentamicina).

-Si observa que tiene infección en la lesión o se han podido producir sobreinfecciones por microorganismos resistentes debe consultar al médico, quien le aplicará el tratamiento adecuado. Hay antibióticos que no se pueden usar con este medicamento en la misma zona (ver apartado Uso de otros medicamentos).

-Si usa junto con la pomada algunos jabones o antisépticos puede eliminar el efecto de este medicamento (ver apartado Uso de otros medicamentos).

-Debe evitar el contacto de la pomada con los ojos o las mucosas (por ejemplo, el área genital).

-Si está usted debilitado, se requiere precaución y consultar al médico por riesgo de extensión de una infección.

-En los niños no debe utilizarse este medicamento, porque no se han establecido su seguridad ni su eficacia en ellos.

Uso de otros medicamentos

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está utilizando o ha utilizado recientemente otros medicamentos, incluso los adquiridos sin receta.

  • Antibióticos aminoglucósidos (ej.: amikacina, tobramicina o gentamicina): si está en tratamiento con algún antibiótico de este tipo, por vía oral u otra vía, podría aumentar el riesgo de reacciones adversas en otras áreas del cuerpo.

-Los siguientes productos no deben utilizarse conjuntamente con Iruxol Neo porque pueden

reducir o suprimir su actividad:

-Antibióticos aplicados localmente como tirotricina, gramicidina y tetraciclinas

-Detergentes, jabones, soluciones ácidas o antisépticos como hexaclorofeno o los que

contienen metales pesados (por ej. mercurocromo).

-Otros preparados enzimáticos.

-Sí que pueden utilizarse los siguientes productos conjuntamente con Iruxol Neo: - Antibióticos como neomicina, bacitracina, polimixina B y framicetina.

Embarazo y lactancia

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar cualquier medicamento.

Para evitar cualquier riesgo para el niño, no debe utilizar Iruxol Neo si usted está embarazada o en período de lactancia, a menos que su médico se lo indique, valorando los beneficios frente a los posibles riesgos.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

3. Cómo usar Iruxol Neo

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de Iruxol Neo indicadas por su médico. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas.

Uso cutáneo.

Para perforar el tubo sellado se debe presionar utilizando el reverso del tapón. La dosis normal es:

Adultos

Aplicar una capa de pomada de aproximadamente 2 mm de espesor, una vez al día, directamente sobre la zona a tratar ligeramente humedecida con hidrogel o suero fisiológico. Se puede aplicar también sobre una gasa o apósito estéril que se coloca sobre la herida. En ocasiones puede ser necesario aplicar la pomada dos veces al día.

Deben mantenerse condiciones asépticas (de limpieza) estrictas. Antes de cada aplicación deberá limpiarse la lesión suavemente con una gasa impregnada en suero fisiológico u otra solución limpiadora compatible con la pomada para quitar el tejido necrosado.

En general, no se debe utilizar el medicamento durante más de una semana, a no ser que el médico decida prolongarlo más tiempo. Si no se observa una reducción del tejido necrosado (muerto) después de 14 días desde el comienzo del tratamiento, debe comunicárselo al médico quien lo interrumpirá y sustituirá por otro.

Uso en niños

No se ha establecido la seguridad y eficacia de Iruxol Neo en niños, por lo que no deberá utilizarse en este grupo de edad.

Si usa más Iruxol Neo del que debiera

Si utiliza más Iruxol Neo de lo recomendado, en grandes áreas de piel erosionada (ej. en úlceras) o durante períodos prolongados, la neomicina podría absorberse en cantidades suficientes para producir efectos adversos como pérdida de audición, daño renal y relajación muscular (bloqueo neuromuscular). Raramente se ha producido casos graves de dermatitis por el uso local de neomicina, uno de los principios activos de este medicamento. En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o acuda a un centro médico, o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó usar Iruxol Neo

No use más cantidad de pomada para compensar las dosis olvidadas. Si ha olvidado una dosis, aplíquela lo antes posible y continúe con su horario habitual.

Si interrumpe el tratamiento con Iruxol Neo

No debe interrumpir el tratamiento antes de lo indicado por su médico o no se obtendrían los resultados deseados.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Iruxol Neo puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

La valoración de los efectos adversos se basa en las siguientes frecuencias:

Muy frecuentes: pueden afectar a más de 1 de cada 10 personas.

Frecuentes: pueden afectar a entre 1 y 10 de cada 100 personas.

Se han observado efectos adversos como dolor, escozor, irritación, inflamación o enrojecimiento de la piel, que no suelen conllevar la interrupción del tratamiento.

Son frecuentes las reacciones de hipersensibilidad a la neomicina, especialmente si se usa durante períodos prolongados, incluyendo: inflamación, ardor, erupción, aparición de ronchas (urticaria); raramente podrían producirse reacciones anafilácticas (reacción alérgica exagerada).

Para el caso de uso excesivo del medicamento, ver apartado Si usa más Iruxol Neo del que debiera.

5. Conservación de Iruxol Neo

Mantener fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No utilice Iruxol Neo después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

Composición de Iruxol Neo pomada

  • Los principios activos son: Clostridiopeptidasa A (Colagenasa) 0,6 UI/g y Neomicina (como sulfato) 3,5 mg/g.
  • Los demás componentes son: parafina líquida y vaselina blanca.
