1. Qué es Fabroven y para qué se utiliza

Fabroven es una combinación de 3 componentes: extracto de ruscus, hesperidina metil chalcona y ácido ascórbico (vitamina C).

Fabroven pertenece al grupo de medicamentos llamados protectores capilares (sistema cardiovascular).

Este medicamento es un agente venotónico y un agente protector vascular (aumenta la tonicidad venosa y la resistencia capilar, y disminuye la permeabilidad vascular).

Este medicamento está indicado en adultos en:

Alivio a corto plazo (durante dos – tres meses) del edema y síntomas relacionados con la insuficiencia venosa crónica.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a tomar Fabroven

No tome Fabroven

  • si es alérgico a los principios activos (extracto de ruscus, hesperidina metil chalcona y/o ácido ascórbico (vitamina C)) o alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6),
  • si padece trastornos de almacenamiento del hierro (talasemia, hemocromatosis, anemia sideroblástica) debido a la presencia de ácido ascórbico (vitamina C) en la composición del medicamento.

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Fabroven.

  • en caso de aparición de diarreas debe suspender el tratamiento e informar a su médico (ver sección 4. Posibles efectos adversos),
  • trastornos circulatorios venosos: si se siente incómodo y/o la fragilidad vascular no ha mejorado después de dos semanas de tratamiento, consulte con su médico.

El ácido ascórbico (vitamina C) puede afectar a los resultados en las pruebas de laboratorio, tales como la determinación de la glucosa en sangre, la bilirrubina, la actividad transaminasa, lactato y otros.

Niños y adolescentes

Este medicamento no está indicado en niños y adolescentes.

Otros medicamentos y Fabroven

Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, o ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.

Fabroven contiene ácido ascórbico y puede utilizarse con precaución con deferoxamina y deferiprona (en particular, medicamentos utilizados en enfermedades causadas por exceso de hierro o aluminio).

Embarazo, lactancia y fertilidad

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

3. Cómo tomar Fabroven

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

Adultos:

La posología recomendada es de 2 a 3 cápsulas duras al día.

La duración del tratamiento es de 2 a 3 meses.

Este medicamento se administra por vía oral.

Las cápsulas duras se tomarán enteras con un vaso de agua.

Si toma más Fabroven del que debe

Consulte inmediatamente a su médico o a su farmacéutico

Dosis elevadas de ácido ascórbico (vitamina C, principio activo de Fabroven) pueden llevar a anemia hemolítica (disminución del número de glóbulos rojos) en pacientes con déficit de G6PD (glucosa-6-fosfato deshidrogenasa).

Puede producirse litiasis oxálica (cálculos renales por cristales de oxalato cálcico), a partir de más de 1 g diario de ácido ascórbico.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 04 20 indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

Si olvidó tomar Fabroven

No tome una dosis doble para compensar las dosis olvidadas.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

5. Conservación de Fabroven

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No conservar a temperatura superior a 25ºC.

Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la humedad.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. En caso de duda pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que no necesita. De esta forma ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.

6. Contenido del envase e información adicional

Composición de Fabroven

  • Los principios activos son: 150 mg de extracto de ruscus aculeatus valorado en heterósidos esterólicos, 150 mg de hesperidina metilchalcona y 100 mg de ácido ascórbico en una cápsula dura.
  • Los demás componentes son: talco, macrogol 6000, sílice coloidal hidrofóbica, estearato magnésico, amarillo de quinoleína (E104), amarillo anaranjado FCF S (E110)*, dióxido de titanio (E171) y gelatina.

*(ver sección 2: Fabroven contiene amarillo anaranjado FCF (E-110).
