Clorxil 5mg/ml contiene clorhexidina , que es un antiséptico cutáneo.

Está indicado para la desinfección de heridas, drenaje de heridas, úlceras, ostomías, mucosas y sondaje vesical.

2. Qué necesita saber antes de empezar a usar Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea

No use Clorxil 5 mg/ml

  • Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a la clorhexidina o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).

Advertencias y precauciones

Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a usar Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea.

  • Este medicamento es exclusivamente de uso externo sobre la piel.No ingerir, ni inhalar.
  • No debe aplicarse ni en el oído, ni en el interior de la boca; en caso de contacto accidental, lavar inmediatamente con abundante agua.
  • Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea no debe entrar en contacto con los ojos debido al riesgo de lesiones visuales. Si entra en contacto con los ojos, lávese inmediata y abundantemente con agua. En caso de irritación, enrojecimiento o dolor en los ojos, o alteraciones visuales, consulte a un médico inmediatamente.

Se han notificado casos graves de lesión persistente de la córnea (lesión de la superficie del ojo) que podría llegar a requerir un trasplante de córnea cuando productos similares han entrado accidentalmente en contacto con los ojos durante intervenciones quirúrgicas, en pacientes con anestesia general (sueño profundo inducido indoloro).

  • No debe utilizarse para la desinfección de zonas de punción o de inyección, ni para la desinfección de material quirúrgico.
  • No debe utilizarse en caso de heridas profundas y extensas sin consultar al médico.
  • No se debe exponer la zona tratada al sol.
  • No utilizar en áreas extensas, ni con vendajes oclusivos (no transpirables).
  • Las ropas que hayan estado en contacto con Clorxil 5 mg/ml no deben lavarse con lejía ni otros hipocloritos, pues se produciría una coloración parduzca en los tejidos, sino con detergentes domésticos a base de perclorato sódico.
  • Utilice con cuidado en neonatos, especialmente en niños prematuros. Clorxil 5 mg/ml puede causar quemaduras químicas en la piel.

Niños

No utilizar en niños menores de 30 meses sin consultar al médico.

Uso de Clorxil 5mg/mlconotros medicamentos

Debe evitarse el empleo simultáneo o sucesivo de otros desinfectantes.

El producto es incompatible con los derivados aniónicos (jabones), ácidos, sales de metales pesados y yodo, por lo que debe aclararse bien la piel después de limpiarla.

Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico antes de utilizar este medicamento.

Conducción y uso de máquinas

No son de esperar efectos en este sentido en las condiciones de uso indicadas.

Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea contiene agua purificada.

3. Cómo usar Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea

Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración de este medicamento indicadas por su médico o farmacéutico. En caso de duda, consulte de nuevo a su médico o farmacéutico.

La dosis recomendada es aplicar sobre la zona afectada una o dos veces al día. No diluir.Debe aplicarse directamente después de limpiar y secar la zona afectada.

Se recomienda no realizar más de dos aplicaciones diarias del producto.

Si los síntomas empeoran o persisten después de 7 días, consulte con su médico.

No debe utilizarse durante más de 7 días seguidos.

Si usa más Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea del que debe

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consulte inmediatamente a su médico o farmacéutico o llame al Servicio de Información Toxicológica, teléfono: 91 562 0420, indicando el medicamento y la cantidad ingerida.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Los efectos adversos más característicos son:

  • Riesgo de efectos sistémicos.
  • Se han observado algunos casos aislados de hipersensibilización a la clorhexidina.
  • Posibilidad de eczema alérgico y fotosensibilización (sensibilidad a la luz solar de la zona tratada).

Otros posibles efectos adversos, para los que se desconoce con qué frecuencia se producen, son:

  • Lesión corneal (lesión en la superficie del ojo) y lesión ocular permanente, incluido deterioro visual permanente (tras la exposición ocular accidental durante las intervenciones quirúrgicas en la cabeza, la cara y el cuello) en pacientes bajo anestesia general (sueño profundo inducido indoloro).

5. Conservación de Clorxil 5 mg/ml solución cutánea

Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

Los medicamentos no se deben tirar por los desagües ni a la basura. Deposite los envases y los medicamentos que no necesita en el Punto SIGRE de la farmacia. Pregunte a su farmacéutico cómo deshacerse de los envases y de los medicamentos que ya no necesita. De esta forma, ayudará a proteger el medio ambiente.
