1. Qué es Cardi-Braun Reperfusión y para qué se utiliza

Los medicamentos Cardi-Braun Mantenimiento y Cardi-Braun Reperfusión, son soluciones para perfusión intracardiaca (que se administran directamente al corazón mediante un aparato externo que asume las funciones de éste) que pertenecen al grupo de medicamentos denominados soluciones cardiopléjicas. Las dos soluciones se utilizan de forma alternativa durante las operaciones de corazón.

Las soluciones cardiopléjicas de B. Braun Medical se utilizan en cirugía de corazón abierto para:

  • parar el corazón y proteger el músculo del corazón durante la operación,
  • la resucitación efectiva de la función del corazón una vez finalizada la operación.

2. Antes de usar Cardi-Braun Reperfusión

No use Cardi-Braun Reperfusión

Si es alérgico (hipersensible) a los principios activos o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de Cardi-Braun Reperfusión.

Si en su situación clínica, la técnica de la parada del corazón con soluciones cardiopléjicas puede suponer una amenaza para su vida.

Tenga especial cuidado con Cardi-Braun Reperfusión

Las soluciones cardiopléjicas Cardi-Braun únicamente serán utilizadas por cirujanos y especialistas cardíacos cualificados.

Las soluciones cardiopléjicas Cardi-Braun no se administran en vena, se liberan directamente al corazón a través de un aparato externo que asume las funciones del corazón durante la operación.

Durante la operación el equipo médico que le asiste realizará un control cuidadoso de sus constantes vitales. En concreto evaluarán:

  • la temperatura de su corazón,
  • el electrocardiograma (mide la actividad eléctrica del corazón) y
  • la presión y la velocidad con la que se administran estas soluciones.

Para la recuperación del corazón una vez terminada la operación, deberá estar disponible un equipo de desfibrilación (emplea corriente eléctrica para restablecer el latido del corazón) y medicamentos que aumenten la fuerza de contracción del corazón.

Se debe garantizar un aporte adecuado de vitaminas (en particular de vitamina B1)

Uso de otros medicamentos

Ciertos medicamentos pueden influir en la acción de las soluciones Cardi-Braun. En estos casos puede ser necesario cambiar la dosis o interrumpir el tratamiento con alguno de los medicamentos.

Este medicamento contiene menos de 23 mg de sodio (1mmol) por 1 mililitro; esto es, esencialmente “exento de sodio”.

3. Cómo Cardi-Braun Reperfusión

Este medicamento siempre lo administrará personal médico especializado.

Su cirujano cardíaco y equipo médico decidirán cuál es la dosis más adecuada para usted.

Este medicamento se inyecta directamente al corazón (perfusión intracardiaca) a través de un aparato, llamado de circulación extracorpórea o de derivación pulmonar.

Este aparato asume las funciones del corazón y se encarga del bombeo y de la circulación de la sangre. De esta manera se consigue que su corazón permanezca inmóvil durante la intervención y permite a los cirujanos operar su corazón sin que se mueva ni esté lleno de sangre.

Si le han administrado más Cardi-Braun Reperfusión del que debiera:

Es poco probable que esto suceda porque su médico determinará la dosis más adecuada para usted.

En caso de sobredosis o ingestión accidental, consultar al Servicio de Información Toxicológica. Teléfono (91) 562 04 20 indicando el producto y la cantidad administrada.

4. Posibles efectos adversos

Al igual que todos los medicamentos, Cardi-Braun Reperfusión puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

Su cirujano le explicará cuáles son los posibles efectos adversos derivados del uso de Cardi-Braun Reperfusión durante la operación a corazón abierto al que será sometido.

Se han comunicado los siguientes efectos adversos de frecuencia desconocida:

Trastornos cardíacos:

Infarto de miocardio, arritmia ventricular, fibrilación ventricular.

Exploraciones complementarias:

Electrocardiograma anormal, equilibrio acidobasico anormal.

Trastornos del metabolismo y de la nutrición:

Desequilibrio electrolítico, hiperglicemia (en pacientes que reciben soluciones con elevado contenido en glucosa; puede requerir la administración de insulina).

Una vez finaliza la operación y se restablece la circulación de la sangre, el latido del corazón puede retrasarse por lo que puede ser necesaria la desfibrilación del corazón (empleo de corriente eléctrica para restablecer el latido del corazón) y el uso de medicamentos para restablecer la función del corazón normal.

Si considera que alguno de los efectos adversos que sufre es grave o si aprecia cualquier efecto adverso no mencionado en este prospecto, informe a su médico o farmacéutico.

5. Conservación de Cardi-Braun Reperfusión

Mantener fuera del alcance y de la vista de los niños.

No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.

No utilice Cardi-Braun Reperfusión después de la fecha de caducidad indicada en el envase. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.

No utilice Cardi-Braun Reperfusión si la solución presenta turbidez o sedimentación.

No utilice Cardi-Braun Reperfusión si el envase presenta signos visibles de deterioro.

Cualquier solución no usada debe eliminarse de acuerdo con los requerimientos locales.

Mezclar el contenido invirtiendo la bolsa varias veces. La mezcla homogénea está lista para su uso.
