1. What is VINPOCETINE COVEX 5 mg tablets and what is it used for

Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets are indicated for the treatment of symptoms of cognitive decline related to vascular cerebral pathology. Before starting treatment, degenerative disease of non-vascular cause (Alzheimer's disease) should be ruled out.

2. What you need to know before taking VINPOCETINE COVEX 5 mg tablets

Do not take Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets:

  • If you are allergic to vinpocetine or any of the other components of this medication (listed in section 6).
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you have a cerebral hemorrhage.
  • If you have cranial hypertension.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets

  • If you have heart problems.
  • If you are being treated with antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, or anticoagulants.
  • If you have liver failure.
  • If you have experienced intolerance to other vinca alkaloids.

Taking Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets with other medications

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or may need to use any other medication.

Although they have not been described, the possibility of interaction between vinpocetine and antiarrhythmic, antihypertensive, or anticoagulant medications cannot be ruled out. If treatment with vinpocetine is considered necessary in patients being treated with the aforementioned medications, it is advisable to monitor the treatment.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.

The use of Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines

This medication may alter your reaction ability, which can impair your ability to drive and use machinery, especially in cases where the medication is taken with alcohol.

Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets contain lactose

This medication contains lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult with them before taking this medication.

3. How to take VINPOCETINE COVEX 5 mg tablets

Follow the administration instructions for this medication exactly as indicated by your doctor. In case of doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.

Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets are administered orally. The dosage of Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets is 1 or 2 tablets three times a day. It is recommended to take the tablets during meals, without chewing them.

If you take more Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets than you should

If you or someone else has ingested an overdose of vinpocetine, please inform your doctor, who will indicate the measures to be taken.

There are no known cases of intoxication due to overdose with Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets. In case of overdose or accidental intoxication, consult the Toxicology Information Service, phone 91 562 04 20.

If you forget to take Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets

Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses. Simply skip the forgotten dose and take the next dose at the usual time.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medications, this medication can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

Episodes of mild blood pressure drop, gastrointestinal and intestinal discomfort (feeling of fullness or nausea), and skin alterations (exanthema or pruritus) have been described as a result of hypersensitivity to the preparation.

5. Storage of VINPOCETINE COVEX 5 mg tablets

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

This medication does not require any special storage temperature.

Do not use Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets after the expiration date shown on the packaging after CAD. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.

Medications should not be thrown away through wastewater or household waste. Deposit the packaging and medications you no longer need at the SIGRE point in the pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the packaging and medications you no longer need. In this way, you will help protect the environment.

Composition of Vinpocetine Covex 5 mg tablets:

  • The active ingredient is vinpocetine
  • The other components are lactose, low-substitution hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, and talc.

White, round tablets with the Covex logo () on one face and a score line on the other.

Package: The tablets are packaged in PVC/aluminum blisters of 25 tablets and presented in boxes of 25 and 50 tablets.
