Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Elocom.
Children
Elocom should be used with caution in children aged 2 years or older. The ointment should not be used for more than 3 weeks. Children are more susceptible to having side effects due to greater absorption of the corticoid by their body. Elocom should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
Using Elocom with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might use any other medicines.
No interactions of Elocom with other medicines are known.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
The safety of using Elocom in pregnant or breastfeeding women has not been established. Treatment on large areas of the body or for prolonged periods should be avoided.
Like other topical corticosteroids, Elocom should be used in pregnant women only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or mother.
It is not known if topical corticosteroid administration can have sufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable amounts in breast milk. Elocom should be used during breastfeeding only after careful consideration of the risk/benefit ratio. If high-dose or long-term treatment is indicated, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
Driving and using machines
Elocom is not known to affect the ability to drive and use machines.
Elocom contains propylene glycol stearate
This medicine contains 20 mg of propylene glycol stearate per gram of ointment, equivalent to 0.6 g per unit (30 g tube) or 1 g per unit (50 g tube).

Use in children
Elocom should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
If you use more Elocom than you should
If you use Elocom more frequently than your doctor has indicated, for a prolonged period, or on large areas of the body, it may affect some of your hormones. In children, it may affect their growth and development.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately or call the Toxicology Information Service, telephone (91) 562 04 20, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested.
If you forget to use Elocom
If you forget to apply Elocom at the indicated time, do so as soon as possible and then continue with the treatment as before. Do not apply double the amount, nor apply the ointment twice on the same day to make up for a missed application.
If you stop using Elocom
