it contains important information for the patient.
The medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the package leaflet or
according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.

  • The package leaflet should be kept in case it needs to be read again.
  • If advice or additional information is needed, the doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.
  • If the patient experiences any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in the package leaflet, the doctor or pharmacist should be informed. See section 4.
  • If there is no improvement after 8 days or the patient feels worse, the doctor should be contacted.

1. What is Ecomer and what is it used for

Ecomer contains shark liver oil, which includes alkylglycerols - lipid ethers of selachyl, batyl, and chimyl alcohols and their methoxy derivatives. Shark liver oil stimulates the body's immune processes.
By increasing antibody production and stimulating the formation of leukocytes and phagocytosis, it increases the body's resistance to infections.

Indications:

As an auxiliary agent in cases of decreased immunity to bacterial and viral infections, in acute and chronic infectious diseases, and as a preventive measure during periods of increased incidence of influenza and other infectious diseases.
After prior decision by the attending physician, the medicine may be used as an auxiliary agent during radiotherapy and chemotherapy of cancer.

2. Important information before taking Ecomer

When not to take Ecomer

Ecomer has not been tested in clinical trials, so other possible contraindications, apart from the one mentioned, are not known.

Ecomer and other medicines

The doctor or pharmacist should be informed about all medicines the patient is currently taking or has recently taken, as well as any medicines the patient plans to take.
No studies on interactions have been conducted.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks she may be pregnant, or plans to have a child, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Due to the lack of data on the use of Ecomer during pregnancy and breastfeeding, this medicine should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines

Ecomer does not affect psychophysical abilities, the ability to drive vehicles, or operate machinery.

3. How to take Ecomer

This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the package leaflet or according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. In case of doubts, the doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.
Recommended dose:
adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: one or two capsules two to three times a day.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Ecomer can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
There is no data on side effects, as no relevant studies have been conducted. There have been no reports of side effects after the medicine was introduced to the market.

Reporting side effects

If any side effects occur, including any possible side effects not listed in the package leaflet, the doctor or pharmacist should be informed. Side effects can be reported directly to the Department of Post-Marketing Surveillance of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices, and Biocidal Products

5. How to store Ecomer

Store in a temperature below 25°C.
Store in the original packaging to protect from light.
Store in a place out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. The pharmacist should be asked how to dispose of unused medicines. This will help protect the environment.

  • The active substance of the medicine is shark liver oil.
  • The other ingredients are: gelatin, glycerol, purified water.

The package contains 60, 120, or 240 soft capsules.
