1. What is Diohespan max and what is it used for

Diohespan max increases venous tone and has a protective effect on blood vessels. It increases lymphatic drainage by enhancing the peristalsis (motility) of lymphatic vessels and lymph flow. The medication acts on microcirculation, reducing the permeability of small blood vessels, perivascular inflammation, and stasis in microcirculation. It also reduces the fragility of small blood vessels.

Indications for Use

Symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs:

  • pains and nocturnal cramps in the legs;
  • feeling of heaviness in the legs;
  • varicose veins of the lower limbs;
  • edema of the legs (swelling / swelling of the legs);
  • spider veins. Symptomatic treatment of hemorrhoids.

If after 7 days there is no improvement or you feel worse, consult a doctor.

2. Important information before taking Diohespan max

When Not to Take Diohespan max

  • if you are allergic to diosmin or any of the other ingredients of this medication (listed in section 6).

Warnings and Precautions

If symptoms related to hemorrhoids persist or worsen despite treatment, consult a doctor. Treatment of symptoms related to hemorrhoids should be short-term.

Diohespan max and Other Medications

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you are taking, have recently taken, or plan to take.

Do Not Take Diohespan max with the Following Medications:

  • diclofenac (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug);
  • metronidazole (medication used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria and protozoa);
  • fexofenadine (medication used to treat allergies);
  • carbamazepine (medication used to treat epilepsy).

Diohespan max with Food and Drink

Take the medication during meals.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or plan to have a child, consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication.

Pregnancy

In case of necessity, the medication may be used during pregnancy, only on a doctor's prescription. If you become pregnant during treatment, consult a doctor, as only a doctor can decide whether to continue treatment.

Breastfeeding

Do not take this medication during breastfeeding, due to the lack of data on the penetration of diosmin into breast milk.

Driving and Using Machines

The medication has no influence or negligible influence on driving and using machines.

Diohespan max Contains Benzyl Alcohol, Fructose, Glucose, and Sucrose

Benzyl Alcohol

The medication contains 0.157 mg of benzyl alcohol in each sachet. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions.

Fructose

The medication contains 0.407 mg of fructose in each sachet. Fructose in the medicinal product may have a harmful effect on teeth.

Glucose

The medication contains 657.60 mg of glucose in each sachet. If you have previously been diagnosed with intolerance to some sugars, consult a doctor before taking the medication.

Sucrose

The medication contains 445.69 mg of sucrose in each sachet. If you have previously been diagnosed with intolerance to some sugars, consult a doctor before taking the medication.

3. How to Take Diohespan max

Always take this medication exactly as described in this patient leaflet or as advised by a doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Recommended Dose

1 sachet per day. Exacerbation of hemorrhoid symptoms: 3 sachets per day for 4 days, then 2 sachets per day for the next 3 days. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Take the medication during meals. The medication is administered orally. Pour the powder directly onto the tongue and swallow. If necessary, you can rinse with water or suspend in a small amount of water and drink.

Taking a Higher Dose of Diohespan max than Recommended

No cases of poisoning due to overdose have been reported. Taking a higher dose than recommended may cause gastrointestinal disorders, vomiting, and nausea. If you take a higher dose than recommended, consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Missing a Dose of Diohespan max

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Stopping Diohespan max Treatment

There is no data on the effects of stopping treatment. If you have any further doubts about the use of this medication, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible Side Effects

Like all medications, Diohespan max can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may occur: Rare(occurring in 1 to 10 people out of 10,000):

  • diarrhea;
  • indigestion;
  • nausea;
  • vomiting;
  • dizziness;
  • headache;
  • malaise;
  • rash (itching, red bumps on the skin);
  • itching;
  • hives (light red, itching blisters on the skin).

The observed side effects do not require discontinuation of the medication.

If you experience any side effects, including those not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist. 5. How to Store Diohespan max

Store the medication out of sight and reach of children. There are no special precautions for storing the medication. Do not use this medication after the expiration date stated on the sachet and carton. The expiration date is the last day of the specified month. Markings on the sachet: Batch - batch number, EXP - expiration date. Medications should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste containers. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the Pack and Other Information

What Diohespan max Contains

  • The active substance is diosmin. One sachet contains 1000 mg of micronized diosmin.
  • The other ingredients are: sucrose, polyvinyl alcohol, polysorbate 80, glucose, citric acid, xanthan gum, colloidal anhydrous silica, orange flavor SD1918 (including fructose), cherry flavor SD0559 (including benzyl alcohol), sucralose.

What Diohespan max Looks Like and What the Pack Contains

Diohespan max is an oral powder with an orange-cherry flavor, gray-yellow to light brown in color with lighter inclusions. The pack contains 10, 20, 30, or 60 sachets of 2.2 g of medication in a cardboard box.
