1. What is Apipulmol and what is it used for

Apipulmol is a syrup intended for adults. It has an expectorant and mucolytic effect, making it easier to

cough up mucus. It reduces the viscosity of mucus and facilitates its movement in the bronchi by

activating the ciliary function of the mucous membrane. The pine honey in the syrup enhances its

expectorant effect. The use of the syrup does not affect the bacterial flora of the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications for use: Inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory tract, cough.

2. Important information before using Apipulmol

Warnings and precautions

Do not use Apipulmol if you are hypersensitive to sulfogaiacol, ammonium chloride, bee products, or

any excipients.
Patients who have observed disturbing symptoms after using the syrup (e.g., laxative effect)

should discontinue the medicine and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Patient with rare hereditary fructose intolerance should not take this medicinal product. Apipulmol should

not be used in patients allergic to bee products.

Using Apipulmol in children

Apipulmol should not be used in children.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding, and fertility

There are no well-controlled clinical studies in pregnant or breast-feeding women, so the medicine

should not be used during this period.

Driving and using machines

The medicinal product contains 2.5% ethanol. In 10 ml of syrup, there is 33 mg of pure ethanol, which

corresponds to 2.75 ml of wine or 6.6 ml of beer. Caution is advised when driving or operating

machines.

Important information about some ingredients of Apipulmol

The syrup contains pine honey. In 10 ml of syrup, there is about 7.5 g of sugar. Patients with rare

hereditary fructose intolerance should not take this medicinal product. Due to the presence of methyl

parahydroxybenzoate, the medicine may cause allergic reactions (possible late reactions). The medicine

contains 2.5% ethanol. One dose (10 ml) corresponds to 2.75 ml of wine or 6.6 ml of beer.

Using other medicines

When using Apipulmol syrup on a doctor's prescription, inform them about all recently taken medicines,

even those available without a prescription.

3. How to use Apipulmol?

Apipulmol should be used according to the dosage presented in this leaflet or as directed by a doctor.

If the doctor does not recommend otherwise, the medicine should be used as follows:
Adults: 3 or 4 times a day, 10 ml (1 tablespoon)
The syrup contains pine honey, which may cause clouding and sediment. Shake before use.
If you feel that the effect of Apipulmol is too strong or too weak, consult a doctor.

Missing a dose of Apipulmol

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible side effects:

No severe side effects have been observed.
Single cases of laxative effect have been reported.

doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. Side effects can be reported directly to the Department of Monitoring of

5. How to store Apipulmol?

Keep the medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
Store in a temperature below 25°C.

Shelf life

2 years
After first opening, 30 days.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the label and carton.
The syrup contains pine honey, which may cause clouding and sediment. Shake before use.

100 g of syrup contains active substances: 2 g of sulfogaiacol and 90 mg of ammonium chloride

Excipients: pine honey (contains sucrose), methyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethanol, purified water

10 ml of syrup contains 260 mg of sulfogaiacol and 12 mg of ammonium chloride.
