1. What is Troxerutin
and what is it used for
Troxerutin is a gel.
It is intended for topical use only.
The active substance in Troxerutin gel is troxerutin, which belongs to the group of bioflavonoids.
Indications for Use
Troxerutin
is indicated for topical application to the skin in pain and swelling of the legs,
caused by chronic venous insufficiency and its symptoms such as: feeling of "heavy legs"
and pain in the lower limbs, swelling of the lower limbs, varicose veins of the lower legs.
2. Important Information Before Using Troxerutin
When Not to Use Troxerutin
:
- if the patient is allergic to troxerutin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- on mucous membranes and open wounds.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not use on mucous membranes and open wounds.
The medicine is not recommended for use in children.
Troxerutin and Other Medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines the patient is taking or has recently taken,
as well as any medicines the patient plans to use.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks she may be pregnant, or plans to have a child,
she should consult her doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Troxerutin should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy, unless in the doctor's opinion
the benefits of using the medicine outweigh the possible risks to the fetus.
Driving and Operating Machines
Troxerutin
does not affect the ability to drive and operate machines.
3. How to Use Troxerutin
Troxerutin
is intended for topical application to the skin.
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet for the patient or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Unless otherwise directed by a doctor, apply a thin layer of the gel 2 times a day to the affected skin surface and gently massage until completely absorbed.
After using the medicine, wash your hands.
Using More Than the Recommended Dose of Troxerutin
There are no known symptoms of overdose when using the medicine according to the indications and recommended method of use.
Missing a Dose of Troxerutin
In case of missing a dose, continue treatment using the gel as usual, applying the preparation to the skin in the same amount as before.
Do not use a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Stopping Use of Troxerutin
In case of any further doubts about using this medicine, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
After topical application of troxerutin, side effects are very rare. Redness of the skin and urticaria may occur.
Reporting Side Effects
If any side effects occur, including any side effects not listed in the leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist. Side effects can be reported directly to the Department of Monitoring of Adverse Reactions to Medicinal Products of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices, and Biocidal Products

5. How to Store Troxerutin
Store at a temperature below 25°C. Do not freeze.
The medicine should be stored out of sight and reach of children.
Pay attention to the expiration date of the medicine.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date stated on the tube. The expiration date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste containers. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer needed. This will help protect the environment.

What Troxerutin Contains
- The active substance of the medicine is troxerutin. 1 g of gel contains 20 mg of troxerutin.
- Other ingredients are: macrogol glycerol ricinoleate, carbomer, tromethamine, glycerol, disodium edetate, ethanol 96%, purified water.
What Troxerutin Looks Like and What the Package Contains
Troxerutin
is a gel-like, transparent mass of yellow, yellow-orange, or yellow-green color.
An aluminum tube internally coated with a PE or PP screw cap, together with a patient leaflet, placed in a cardboard box, contains 30 g of gel.
