Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm contains an extract of Ginkgo bilobae leaves.
The medicine is traditionally used for peripheral circulation disorders.
Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm is a traditional herbal medicine, and its effectiveness is based solely on the experience gained from its long-term use.
Before taking Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm, the patient should discuss it with their doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
It is recommended to stop taking the product 36 hours before a scheduled surgical or dental procedure (e.g., tooth extraction).
If the patient has an increased tendency to bleed (coagulation disorders) or hemophilia, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm.
Particular caution should be exercised when taking Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm, as the single dose of the preparation (5 ml) contains approximately 2.7 g of ethanol, equivalent to approximately 28 ml of wine and 69 ml of beer.
The patient should consult their doctor, even if the above warnings apply to past situations.
The medicine may have a harmful effect on individuals addicted to alcohol. The ethanol content in the preparation should be taken into account when treating pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and children, as well as individuals at high risk, such as patients with liver damage.
Due to the ethanol content and the lack of sufficient data, the medicine should not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18.
The patient should inform their doctor or pharmacist about all medicines they are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines they plan to take.
Due to the ethanol content in the preparation, it is not recommended to take the medicine with other pharmaceutical products that may have an adverse effect on the liver.
In the case of regular use of acetylsalicylic acid or other medicines that affect blood coagulation (e.g., heparin, warfarin, coumarin derivatives), the patient should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm.
If the patient is taking trazodone, proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) (e.g., omeprazole), nifedipine, or thiazide diuretics, they should consult their doctor before taking Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm.
Food does not affect the action of the medicine. It is not recommended to take the medicine with alcohol.
Due to the possible prolongation of blood coagulation time and the lack of sufficient data, the medicine should not be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It should be remembered that the preparation contains 60-70% V/V ethanol.
Immediately after taking the preparation, alcohol may be detectable by devices that measure alcohol in exhaled air; therefore, the patient should not drive vehicles immediately after taking the preparation. A break of at least 30 minutes should be observed.

Due to the ethanol content, overdose may cause harmful effects in case of liver damage, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain damage, or mental disorders, and may also impair psychomotor performance.
The patient should continue with the recommended dosing schedule and not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Like all medicines, Tinctura Ginkgo bilobae Phytopharm can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
During treatment with the medicine, mild gastrointestinal disorders, pain, and dizziness may occur, and rare cases of skin allergic reactions (rash, itching) may occur.
If the patient experiences any side effects, including any side effects not listed in this leaflet, they should inform their doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
