This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet.

  • If there is no improvement after 3 days or the patient feels worse, consult a doctor.

1. What is Sage Ointment and what is it used for

Sage Ointment is intended for traditional use in the listed indications, the effectiveness of which is based solely on a long period of use and experience.
Used as an auxiliary in skin inflammation.

2. Important information before using Sage Ointment

When not to use Sage Ointment:

  • do not use on large areas of skin, on open wounds, the components of the ointment may have a general effect
  • if the patient is allergic to the components of the medicine
  • do not use in infants and young children
  • do not use in inflammatory conditions of the breast during breastfeeding.

Warnings and precautions

Before starting to use Sage Ointment, discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist.

Sage Ointment and other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines the patient is taking, has recently taken, or plans to take.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks she may be pregnant, or plans to have a child, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Do not use in inflammatory conditions of the breast during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines

Sage Ointment does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

3. How to use Sage Ointment

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is for use on the skin.
The recommended dose is: apply 2-4 times a day to the changed diseased skin surfaces.
Do not use in infants and young children.

Using a higher dose of Sage Ointment than recommended

Due to topical administration, the likelihood of overdose is small.

Missing a dose of Sage Ointment

Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Stopping the use of Sage Ointment

In case of any further doubts about the use of this medicine, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Reporting side effects

If side effects occur, including any possible side effects not listed in the leaflet, tell your doctor. Side effects can be reported directly to the Department of Monitoring of Adverse Reactions to Medicinal Products of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products

5. How to store Sage Ointment

Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. This will help protect the environment.

What Sage Ointment contains

  • The active substance of the medicine is sage leaf extract
  • Excipients: ethanol and white petroleum jelly

Sage Ointment is a green ointment packed in polypropylene boxes with a polyethylene lid placed in a cardboard box
The package contains 10g or 25g of ointment.
