Lapixen contains lacidipine, which belongs to a group of medicines called calcium antagonists.
Lapixen helps to relax blood vessels, which causes them to widen. This makes it easier for blood to flow and as a result, blood pressure is lowered.
Taking Lapixen tablets regularly, as recommended by your doctor, helps to lower blood pressure (treatment of high blood pressure).

2. Important information before taking Lapixen

When not to take Lapixen

  • If the patient is allergic to lacidipine, other calcium antagonists, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
  • If the patient has a heart disease called aortic stenosis. This is a narrowing of the valve in the heart, which makes it difficult for blood to flow.
  • If the patient has had a heart attack within the last month.
  • Lacidipine should be stopped if chest pain (angina pectoris) or rapid and shallow breathing, low blood pressure, cold and sweaty skin, or dizziness, fainting, weakness, or nausea occur.
