1. What is HascoFungin cream and what is it used for

The active substance of HascoFungin cream (ciclopirox olamine) has antifungal effects, destroying the cells of pathogenic fungi and yeast that cause skin diseases, as well as anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
The fungi sensitive to ciclopirox olamine are pathogenic fungi and yeast, as well as some bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative).

Indications for use

Local treatment of all forms of skin fungal infections:

  • - skin candidiasis (yeast infection that usually occurs between the toes, under the breasts, and in skin folds);
  • - body ringworm, foot ringworm, groin ringworm (between the toes of one or both feet, sometimes on the sole or sides of the feet);
  • - pityriasis versicolor (yellow-brown spots that usually occur on the torso);
  • - foot fungal infections.

2. Important information before using HascoFungin cream

When not to use HascoFungin cream:

  • - if the patient is allergic to ciclopirox olamine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

When to exercise caution when using HascoFungin cream:
You should avoid contact with the eyes.
Do not use on damaged skin.
Using HascoFungin cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used if considered necessary by a doctor.
Before using the medicine, you should consult a doctor.
Effect on ability to drive and use machines:
The medicine does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

3. How to use HascoFungin cream

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
Usually, the cream should be applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 1 or 2 times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the infection. Treatment should be continued for at least 1-2 weeks after the symptoms have disappeared.
If there is no improvement or the symptoms worsen, you should consult a doctor.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, HascoFungin cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects include:

  • - local skin irritation, itching, redness, burning, discomfort.

If side effects occur, you should stop using the medicine and consult a doctor.

5. How to store HascoFungin cream

Store in a room temperature (up to 25°C), in the original packaging, in a place inaccessible and invisible to children.

What HascoFungin cream contains:
The active substance of the medicine is ciclopirox olamine.
1 g of cream contains 10 mg of ciclopirox olamine.
Other ingredients are: white petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, macrogol 400, purified water.
What HascoFungin cream looks like and what the package contains:
Cream for external use, white or almost white.
The medicine is available in aluminum tubes containing 15 g or 30 g of cream, closed in a cardboard box.

The medicine may cause a local skin reaction (e.g., contact dermatitis).

HascoFungin cream contains benzonic acid

It causes mild skin, eye, and mucous membrane irritation.

3. How to use HascoFungin cream

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If you have any doubts, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is intended for use on the skin.
Usually, the medicine is applied to the affected areas of the skin and around them 2 times a day (in the morning and evening).
Treatment should be continued until the disappearance of the disease changes, usually from 2 to 4 weeks, and in the case of foot fungal infections for a month or longer. If the changes do not disappear, you should contact your doctor.

Using a higher dose of HascoFungin cream than recommended

There is no data on overdose.
If you use a higher dose of the medicine than recommended, you should immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Missing a dose of HascoFungin cream

You should use it as soon as possible.

If you have any further doubts about using this medicine, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, HascoFungin cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • Local skin reactions, such as redness, itching, burning.
  • Rarely, allergic reactions.

5. How to store HascoFungin cream

Store in a room temperature (up to 25°C), in the original packaging, in a place inaccessible and invisible to children.

Rarely, the following may occur: local hypersensitivity reactions, irritation, burning, redness, swelling, or itching.

5. How to store HascoFungin cream

Store in a closed original package, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste containers. You should ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that are no longer needed. This will help protect the environment.

What HascoFungin cream contains

  • The active substance of the medicine is ciclopirox olamine. 100 g of cream contains 1 g of ciclopirox olamine.
  • Other ingredients (excipients) are: cetylstearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, glycerol monostearate self-emulsifying, light liquid paraffin, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, glycerol, benzoic acid, lactic acid, purified water.
