Diprobase ointment

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.

  • If the patient experiences any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in the leaflet, they should inform their doctor or pharmacist. See section 4.
  • If there is no improvement after 3 days or the patient feels worse, they should contact their doctor.

What is Diprobase and what is it used for

Diprobase is an ointment with soothing properties for skin conditions that are subject to corticosteroid therapy.
Diprobase ointment can be used as an adjunct in the treatment of allergic and inflammatory skin diseases with corticosteroids.
Diprobase ointment can be used as an adjunct in corticosteroid therapy in the following cases:
during remission periods of chronic skin diseases, when corticosteroid therapy is not necessary,
in daily therapy simultaneously with the use of corticosteroids,
in acute inflammatory or allergic skin conditions, including the skin of the head, when corticosteroid therapy is no longer necessary.

2. Important information before using Diprobase

When not to use Diprobase:

  • in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this medicine (listed in point
    • 6).

Warnings and precautions:

Before starting to use Diprobase, the patient should discuss it with their doctor or pharmacist.

Diprobase and other medicines

The patient should tell their doctor or pharmacist about all medicines they are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines they plan to take.
No interactions with other medicines are known.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks they may be pregnant, or plans to have a child, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

Driving and using machines

It has no effect on the ability to drive and use machines.

3. How to use Diprobase

This medicine should always be used according to the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. If in doubt, the patient should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is intended for topical use on the skin.
Unless the doctor advises otherwise, the medicine should be applied in a thin layer to the skin and gently massaged into the skin.
The frequency of using the medicine should be determined by the doctor, depending on the chosen treatment regimen. Diprobase ointment can be used as often as necessary.
If the patient feels that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak, they should consult their doctor.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Allergic reactions may occur.

If any side effects occur, including any possible side effects not listed in the leaflet, the patient should inform their doctor or pharmacist. 5. How to store Diprobase

The medicine should be stored out of sight and reach of children.
Store at a temperature below 25°C. Store in the original packaging to protect from light.
Shelf life after first opening the packaging – 12 weeks.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after: Expiry date.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.

What Diprobase contains:liquid paraffin, white petrolatum.
