Sodium chondroitin sulfate
Condromed contains the active substance sodium chondroitin sulfate.
Condromed belongs to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic drugs.
It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
This medicine has a delayed effect, which may persist after treatment is stopped.
If the patient is allergic to sodium chondroitin sulfate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Before starting to take Condromed, the patient should discuss it with their doctor or pharmacist if they have or have had liver, kidney, or heart disorders.
This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
The patient should tell their doctor or pharmacist about all medicines they are taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines they plan to take, especially if they are taking anticoagulant medicines such as warfarin.

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks they may be pregnant, or plans to have a baby, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Sodium chondroitin sulfate may have a minor effect on the ability to drive and use machines.
After taking the medicine, dizziness may occur (see section 4). If this happens, the patient should not drive or use machines.
The medicine contains 73 mg of sodium (the main component of common salt) per tablet, which corresponds to 3.8% of the maximum recommended daily intake of sodium in the diet for adults.
This medicine should always be taken exactly as prescribed by the doctor or pharmacist. In case of doubts, the patient should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
Adults
The recommended dose is one tablet per day.
Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age
This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Elderly patients and patients with kidney, liver, or heart disorders
Treatment of patients with kidney, liver, or heart disorders requires special caution (see "Warnings and precautions").
Instructions for use
The tablet can be taken before, during, or after a meal.
In case of overdose, the patient should immediately contact their doctor or go to the nearest hospital. They should take the medicine package with them.
If a dose is missed, the patient should take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, they should not take the missed dose. They should not take a double dose to make up for the missed tablet.
In case of any further doubts about the use of this medicine, the patient should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, Condromed can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Some side effects may be serious.

The medicine should be stored out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton after: Expiry date (EXP). The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.
There are no special storage precautions for this medicine. Store in the original blister pack to protect from moisture.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. The patient should ask their pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. This will help protect the environment.
The active substance of Condromed is sodium chondroitin sulfate. Each tablet contains 800 mg of sodium chondroitin sulfate. The other ingredient is magnesium stearate.
It is a white or almost white, elongated, biconvex tablet with a diameter of about 21 mm.
The boxes contain 30 or 90 tablets.
