ASMAG

Read the leaflet carefully before taking the medicine, as it contains important information for the patient.

This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as advised by a doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.

  • Keep this leaflet, you may need to read it again.
  • If you need advice or additional information, consult a pharmacist.
  • If the patient experiences any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in the leaflet, they should inform their doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. See section 4.
  • If there is no improvement or the patient feels worse after 30 days, they should contact their doctor.

1. What is Asmag and what is it used for

Asmag is a medicine containing magnesium.
Magnesiumis one of the basic building blocks of the body.
Magnesium has a protective effect on the heart muscle, participates in the development and mineralization of bones,
is necessary for the synthesis of certain hormones, such as insulin, counteracts stress, hypoxia,
allergies, and inflammatory conditions.
A magnesium deficiency weakens the body's immunity, leads to disorders of the circulatory, nervous, and muscular systems, and accelerates the development of atherosclerosis of the blood vessels.

Indications for use:

  • supplementing magnesium deficiency in the body.

2. Important information before taking Asmag

When not to take Asmag

  • if the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of the medicine (listed in section 6);
  • if the patient has severe kidney failure;
  • if the patient has elevated magnesium levels in the blood;
  • if the patient has heart rhythm disorders (feeling of too slow, too fast, or irregular heartbeat);
  • if the patient has a disease called myasthenia gravis(a rare disease characterized by excessive muscle weakness);
  • if the patient has diarrhea;
  • if the patient is being treated with antibiotics.

Warnings and precautions

Taking a dose larger than recommended may cause diarrhea.

Children

Do not take a dose larger than recommended.

Asmag and other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines you plan to take.
Do not take Asmag at the same time as the following medicines:

  • tetracycline antibiotics;
  • oral anticoagulants derived from hydroxycoumarin (these medicines prevent blood clots from forming);
  • medicines or dietary supplements containing phosphates, calcium, and iron. These medicines taken with Asmag reduce its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Taking Asmag with food and drink

The medicine should be taken after a meal, with a glass of water.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks they may be pregnant, or plans to have a child, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines

The medicine does not affect the ability to drive or operate machines.
Asmag contains lactose monohydrate.One tablet contains 50 mg of lactose monohydrate. If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to some sugars, they should consult their doctor before taking the medicine.

3. How to take Asmag

This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as advised by a doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Administration to adults and adolescents over 12 years of age

Orally, 3 tablets 4 times a day.

Administration to children

Orally, 1 tablet 2 to 3 times a day.
Asmag should be taken after a meal, with a glass of water.

Taking a larger dose of Asmag than recommended

In case of taking a larger dose of the medicine than recommended, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Overdose symptoms may occur (listed in section 4).

Missing a dose of Asmag

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
When taking the medicine as recommended, no side effects have been observed. Taking a larger dose of the medicine may cause side effects such as: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Reporting side effects

If you experience any side effects, including any possible side effects not listed in the leaflet, tell your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. 5. How to store Asmag

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store in a temperature below 25°C.
Store in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
Do not use Asmag after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. This will help protect the environment.

6. Package contents and other information

What Asmag contains

  • The active substance of the medicine is magnesium hydroaspartate tetrahydrate. One tablet contains 20 mg of magnesium ions in the form of 300 mg of magnesium hydroaspartate tetrahydrate.
  • The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, colloidal silica, magnesium stearate, dextrin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (type C), methylcellulose.

What Asmag looks like and what the package contains

Asmag is a white, round tablet with the inscription "As" embossed on one side.
Available packaging: 50 tablets in a container in a cardboard box.
