Acerin is a liquid for application to the skin, containing the active substances salicylic acid and lactic acid.
Salicylic acid has a keratolytic effect, softening and loosening the thickened skin, making it easier to remove.
Lactic acid is a cauterizing agent that destroys the thickened skin layer.
Removal of calluses and thickened skin.
Before starting to use Acerin, the patient should discuss it with their doctor or pharmacist.
Acerin is not intended for use in children.
The patient should inform their doctor or pharmacist about all medicines they are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines they plan to take.
If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks they may be pregnant, or plans to have a child, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
No studies have been conducted on the use of Acerin during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
No studies have been conducted on the effect of Acerin on the ability to drive and use machines.

Acerin is for use on the skin only.
Acerin should be applied with a brush to the callus or thickened skin area. Care should be taken not to touch healthy skin. The medicine should be allowed to dry completely. If necessary, the application of the medicine can be repeated for several days.
Then the feet should be soaked and the callus removed.
The medicine should be used carefully to avoid dripping from the brush and spilling the medicine.
If the patient feels that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
Acerin is not intended for use in children.
There are no data on overdose of the medicine when used according to the indications and recommended use.
In case of accidental ingestion of the medicine, the patient should contact their doctor immediately.
A double dose should not be used to make up for a missed dose.
If the patient has any further doubts about the use of this medicine, they should consult their doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, Acerin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Irritation and inflammation may occur.
Using the medicine on healthy skin can cause burns and pain. If worrying symptoms occur, the patient should stop using the medicine and contact their doctor immediately.
If the patient experiences any side effects, including any side effects not listed in this leaflet, they should inform their doctor or pharmacist. The medicine should be stored out of sight and reach of children.
The medicine should not be used after the expiry date stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Store in a temperature below 25°C, in a dry place.
Store the packaging tightly closed. Store in the original packaging.
The medicine is flammable. Handle with fire cautiously.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. The patient should ask their pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that are no longer needed. This will help protect the environment.
